The singer, 41 year Okwudili Oyatanze who was executed yesterday in Indonesia, was giving his regular performance at a penitentiary outside the Indonesian capital, Jakarta.
Known in Indonesia’s penal system as “The Death Row Gospel Singer,” Mr. Oyatanze  was arrested in 2001 while trying to smuggle 5.5 pounds of heroin through Jakarta’s international airport, in his
stomach, after arriving on a flight from Pakistan. He was convicted the following year and sentenced to death.
Mr. Oyatanze made the most of his incarceration, writing more than 70 songs and recording multiple albums behind bars. He has performed with prison guards as well as fellow inmates.
In the Youtube video, shot in 2008, Mr. Oyatanze sang his song “God You Know,” which was also the name of an album he released that year.
“He has turned his life around in jail,” said the Rev. Charles Burrows, a Catholic priest from Ireland who now lives in Indonesia and offered religious counseling to Mr. Oyatanze before his execution yesterday.

NNPC deducted $18.53bn oil revenue, audit report confirms Sanusi’s allegation

A forensic audit of Nigeria’s state oil firm released on Monday confirmed the accusation by Emir Muhammed Sanusi that the NNPC withheld about $20 billion that it ought to have remitted to the national treasury.
The report ordered released by President Goodluck Jonathan, more than two months after it was submitted by PriceWaterHouseCoopers confirmed that the NNPC illegally expended $18.53 billion on operational costs, kerosene and petrol subsidies, without authorisation from the National Assembly. Part of the money was also withheld by an NNPC subsidiary, without National Assembly authorisation.
Although the audit found that the firm overpaid the state by almost $750 million, within the 19 months probed, it recommended a refund of $1.5 billion to government coffers. The audit covered January 2012 to July 2013.
Outgoing Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan released the audit days after his elected replacement, Muhammadu Buhari, pledged to probe the allegation all over again and crack down on corruption in the energy company once in office.
The probe of Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation’s (NNPC) books was instituted last year after former central bank governor Lamido Sanusi said the firm had withheld $20 billion in oil revenue from government coffers, jeopardising the country’s finances.
Sanusi had told a Senate committee in 2014 that NNPC had received $67 billion and handed over only $47 billion.
After the allegations, Jonathan publicly dismissed the claim and replaced Sanusi, saying the banker had mismanaged the central bank’s budget. Sanusi has since become Emir of Kano, the country’s second-highest Islamic authority.
The PwC audit, however, said NNPC and its upstream subsidiary, the Nigerian Petroleum Development Company, should hand over $1.48 billion arising from unsubstantiated costs, duplicated subsidy claims and computation errors.
The report also recommended an overhaul of how NNPC is run.
“The NNPC model of operation must be urgently reviewed and restructured, as the current model which has been in operation since the creation of the corporation cannot be sustained,” it said in the 200-page document.
An earlier one-page version of the report, which had been due out in September, was released in February.
The affair has caused consternation in a nation long accustomed to reports of grand graft in Africa’s largest oil producer.
Analysts say Buhari, 72, managed to oust Jonathan in elections last month because voters believed he would tackle graft in Africa’s largest economy.

Indonesia brushed aside last-minute appeals yesterday and executed eight people including 4 Nigerians convicted of drug smuggling in their country. Photos of the dead being buried and details from their last minutes on earth have now been revealed.
According to the pastors who were with them in their final hours, reformed Bali Nine ringleaders Andrew Chan and Myuran Sukumaran and their six fellow death row prisoners refused to wear blindfolds and were singing as they were executed by a 13-member firing squad in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
The eight men chose to face their executioners and spent their last minutes of life praying, praising God and singing songs including Amazing Grace.
On Wednesday morning, Pastor Christie Buckingham - who read Chan and Sukumaran their last rites - said the eight death row inmates walked out onto the killing field singing religious songs in the
moments before they were executed.
Pastor Buckingham said the men conducted themselves with 'dignity and strength until the end'. Another pastor, Karina de Vega, said it was a 'beautiful experience'.
'It was breathtaking. This was the first time I witnessed someone so excited to meet their God,' Pastor de Vega told Fairfax.More pics after cut.....

Nigerian woman arrested for killing her husband in the US

35 year old Nigerian woman, Adebamiro Temitope, above, has been arrested by the New Castle Police in Delaware, Philadelphia for stabbing her 37 year old Nigerian husband and father of her two children, Adeyinka Adebamiro to death over allegations of abuse and cheating.
The woman accused her husband of constant abuse and claimed he cheated on her with several women including her sister and their nanny's daughter.
Neighbors alerted the police after screams and shouting was heard emanating from the couple's home in the 1300 block of Healy Courton in New castle on Thursday April 23rd. When the police got to their home, they found Adeyinka in the pool of his blood with a 4 inch single stab wound just below his neck which severed his carotid artery and jugular vein.

In three years we became the most civilised, the most technologically advanced black people on earth.”

A 32-year-old nursing mother, who was caught for alleged armed robbery in Lagos, has blamed her plight on the huge financial burden on her.According to the Lebanese woman, who identified herself as Amira Abudallahi, the economic situation led her into robbery.She told Vanguard
“my financial responsibility and the economic situation of the country led me into armed robbery”. “I have five kids but I am divorced. I just had a baby. The baby is six months old now. Since I started working with the gang, I have made over N12 million. I used part of it to buy a car and the other to pay my children’s school fees,” “I am not proud of myself neither am I proud of what has happened. I just hope I can make a positive change on the society. I pray God will give me the opportunity to do so in future.
I believe no one is above mistake and I believe God will grant me the grace.What I did was wrong, but nobody is above mistake. It was my financial responsibility and the economic situation of the country that led me into the gang. I live in Lekki. What I do for the gang is that I talk with prospective victims on the phone. Senator gives me the number, tells me what to say and then I call the victim. I have not built any house; I still live in a rented two-bedroom apartment in Lekki”.
Amira was alleged to be a member of a six-man armed robbery gang which specialised in impersonating operatives of EFCC to rob bureau de change operators in Abuja and Lagos.

Also Confessing to the crime, Eze said,

“I didn’t recruit anyone of them into the gang; they all joined the gang on their own freewill because they are all adults. I am from Ikanu lGA, Enugu state. I am married with five children. I was into hospitality business before I ventured into robbery. The senator name is an appellation. I did not hold a political position. I live in a rented apartment at VGC. I did not own the house. Some of my daughters are in school abroad.

“We have made about N15m. I have used the money to buy different property, but the police have seized them all. I bought different vehicles”.
Another member of the gang, a dismissed police officer, Paul Irior, said:
 “We were not using guns. I was serving with CMS Mopol 2, Lagos. I built a house in Benin. I met the senator in 2014. My role was to act as policeman. I would wear uniform and pose with the fake EFCC officials. Any time they had a deal, they invited me. Sometimes, I got a million per operation.
“They would bring the money to us in convenient places like hotels and banks. I also run a hotel. It is about five years now that we started the deals. I was arrested by the police four years ago for a similar issue, but secured bail by the court.
Lagos State Police Command spokesman, Ken Nwosu, said efforts were on to arrest the only gang member still at large.

Ayatollah Hossein Dehnavi, a celebrity preacher in Iran, made the speech to a packed auditorium of men and women in his home country.
It is the latest controversial teaching put forward by Dehnavi, who also warned that if women did not wear the hijab - the veil covering the hair and chest - properly, they could inadvertently cause some men to become homosexual.

Homosexual acts are punishable by death in Iran, with gay and lesbian people forced to hide their sexuality.
Dehavni is a celebrated cleric in Iran, whose speeches on family life and marital affairs are shown on state TV and who people queue up for tickets to see him speak live.

Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister for the economy, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala said this will be a difficult year for Nigeria financially because of the cash crunch we are experiencing, but said with the financial assets the current administration has been able to build over the years, our cash flow will improve over time.
“Under this administration we began the work of truly diversifying the economy and the proof of that is that much of the growth in this past few years that has come to the country has come not from the oil sector but actually from non-oil sectors like Agriculture, telecommunications, manufacturing, the creative industries. The fact that oil prices fell by 50% makes it very difficult in terms of cash flow but Nigeria is asset rich and that is why when people say the country is broke I say no. In economic terms, with the kind of assets we have we should be able to realize some of them to improve our cash flow but it is true that this will be a very difficult year because of the cash crunch.
However we need to see this drop in oil prices as an opportunity. I gave a talk on Nigeria beyond oil. I really think with the growth of the country based on non-oil sectors, we ought to see the fall in oil prices as an opportunity to further the diversification that has started under this administration” she said

Mary Akinloye, who kidnapped 3 boys of the Orekaya’s. Lagos state Police Commissioner, Kayode Aderanti says she was arrested on Monday April 15.
According to Police sources, Adebiyi is not new in the kidnapped business, she was the mastermind of the December, 2014 kidnap of two boys, Raphael and Michael Esharegaran from their parents home in Magodo, Lagos. The boys were reunited with their parents after N2.5million ransom was paid.
Sources also said, she runs the kidnap syndicate with others, who are still at large and effort is on to arrest the other members of the gang.
How Nanny was arrested
Immediately the kidnapped case was reported, the SARS team swung into action, asking the Orekoyas to pay a fraction of the ransom into the account of an unnamed bank, said to have been opened in Oyo State. SARS investigation revealed a link between the contact number on the account and that of the nanny.
The kidnappers and her gang withdrew N400,000 from the account using the ATM as the Police set up surveillance on the account and calls on the mobile phones of members of the syndicate.
According to sources, all plans to lure the nanny out of her den failed,but sensing danger, she quickly abandoned the children, which were found Tuesday night, thinking the discovery will get the SARS team off her trail but the police tighten the noose on her. She hurriedly evacuated her home in Coker Estate and was on the verge of leaving town when the law enforcement agents finally caught her with a maid, Wednesday night.
The Police are still on the trail of other members of the gang.

US doctors discover a black woman in Maryland with two vaginas

Doctors in Maryland, US, found a woman with a very unusual condition; she was born with two vaginas. The woman, described as black, has the vaginas side-by-side but only uses one – for sex. The other one, she’s never used before, so that one is still considered ‘virgin’. The lady told doctors that she menstruates out of both vaginas during her period.
Doctors performed a full medical exam on the woman and determined that both vaginas were fully functional and both of them lead to her single uterus, according to a report by MediaTakeOut. Aside from having two vaginas, everything else in the woman’s anatomy is the same.
