National Assembly is Broke –Senate Leader Ndume

Senate leader, Ali Ndume, has said the National Assembly is broke and the situation was so worrisome that legislators were not receiving their allowances as and when due.He told newsmen in Abuja..
“I know that the whole country is in financial difficulty, not only National Assembly. I have been in the National Assembly since 2003, but things keep getting worse; I think they paid us last month’s salary on the 16th of the following month or thereabouts,“It is not only with the National Assembly, some states have not been able to pay salaries for six months, one year.
“Some states were even asking their workers to go and farm for two days and work for the other three days in a week.
“Even in the Presidency, they have tightened their belts on their expenditure and so, it’s a general phenomenon in the country.
“We used to receive running costs or allowances quarterly but now it is monthly and it doesn’t come as and when due,” he said.
On public perception of the National Assembly, the Senate leader said Nigerians had a wrong impression of the workings of the legislature.
According to him, the perception that Nigerian lawmakers were the most corrupt was untrue.
“If the National Assembly is so corrupt and you can make much money, then tell me one member that is living in luxury after leaving office.
“Some of my colleagues who lost out in the 2015 election are struggling to pay their children’s school fees, some of them are even struggling to take care of their health,” he said.

Married women who watch porn are more likey to want divorce than men

Married women who start watching porn are more likely to want a divorce than men, a study claims.
Those in a happy marriage, newly married or from a non-religious home were also more likely to separate if they begin watching smutty films or images.
But church going couples or those in an unhappy marriage are more likely to stay together if one of them dabbles in X-rated material, it is claimed.
University of Oklahoma sociologists compared the porn use and martial status of thousands of adults and how this changed over time.
Assistant professor Dr Samuel Perry said:
"Our results suggest that viewing pornography, under certain social conditions, may have negative effects on marital stability."
But porn had no effect on unhappier marriages
Prof Perry said: "We took this to mean that pornography use - perhaps if it's discovered by one's spouse unexpectedly - could rock an otherwise happy marriage to the point of divorce, but it doesn't seem to make an unhappy marriage any worse than it already is.
The study also found the younger an adult was when he or she began watching pornography, the higher his or her probability of getting divorced by the next survey wave.

Lagos State Govt. to Replace 4th, 5th, & 8th Lekki Roundabouts with Traffic Lights

Lagos to Replace Lekki Roundabouts
The Lagos State Government said on Wednesday that it is set to decongest traffic along the Lekki-Epe Expressway through the removal of three roundabouts namely the 4th Roundabout (Elegushi); 5th Roundabout (Jakande) and the 8th Roundabout (VGC).
This was made known by the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Steve Ayorinde, while addressing a joint ministerial press briefing at the Bagauda Kaltho Press Centre in Alausa.
He said the affected roundabouts would be replaced by the use of traffic lights, expansion of the roads and provision of dedicated turning lanes as well as additional lay-bys.
The state’s Commissioner for Works, Ganiyu Johnson also said that the government will embark on the construction of a flyover at Pen Cinema located at the Agege axis of the state.
“The Pen-Cinema flyover has been a recurring decimal in this state to solve the gridlock there. This flyover will bring to three the number of flyover undertaken by this government after the Abule-Egba and Ajah flyovers which are on course,” Johnson said.

I used to underestimate myself.....Toke Makinwa

She wrote
My #wcw😍 you never know how strong you are until you are tested and tried💪 I used to underestimate myself, I would usually speak myself out of doing things, the voice of fear was so loud till what I feared the most happened to me (like Job) and In my confusion and fear, not knowing what next, I had to learn the hard way but thru it all I found a new me, a girl I didn't know existed and it's been really fun getting to know her. I remember when I moved into my new flat, I didn't know how I would make it thru but God was there before me.
Each time I tried to settle I felt I was insulting God; did I create myself? Do I not trust him? Is his grace not sufficient? And true to his word, he's always looked out for this little girl and each time I ask myself how did I come this far, how am I able to stand? Pay bills, thrive and not just survive; I feel so much comfort and I confront my fears about going further. I'm all grown. I will get by and by his grace my testimony will be complete. Life happens, life doesn't stop so when next you are faced with "how will I do this??" Think if he brought me to it, his grace is sufficient to take me thru it and I will come out on the other side. Just like Job, (job had in the end much more than he lost in the beginning) my season of restoration will come 🙏😇💯
