Police Killed My Son And I Want Justice – Prophet

Olayinka Kolawole
How would any sane person be in possession of gun and be drinking? So you called for backup because somebody was dancing with your girlfriend? Na wa.
When in June 2013, Olayinka Kolawole gained admission to Tai Solarin University of Education, Ogun State, to read Mass Communication, his family and friends rejoiced with him. This was because Kolawole  had been trying for three years to further his education after finishing from Sam Glory Secondary School, Ejigbo, Lagos. However, the family was thrown into mourning a few days later after the 20-year-old was allegedly killed by policemen attached to Ejigbo Division.
The father of the deceased, Prophet Omisande Kolawole, told PUNCH Metro that the incident occurred on June 15, 2013. Narrating what transpired on the fateful day, Omisande said his son had gone to attend a friend’s birthday party but was killed on his way home. He said, “My son went out to attend his friend’s birthday party not too far from our home. He said he would not stay long and we told him not to stay out too long. The following day, which was a Sunday, we did not see or hear from him and we began to panic.
“Later we heard that police embarked on a raid the previous night. We even thought he had been arrested. His mother, Grace Kolawole, and her nephew, Segun Adio, went to the Ejigbo Police Division but they were told that there were no suspects in their cell. “However, residents told us that they had seen my son’s corpse being conveyed by policemen. After about three hours later, the policemen opened up and told us that my son had been killed. My wife immediately fainted.”
Omisande said even after his wife had been revived, the police refused to take her statement as well as the statement of Adio, her nephew. He said Adio and other residents set out to investigate what actually happened and it was discovered that his son was killed by a stray bullet which emanated from the gun of a policeman popularly known as Oba.
He said, “We were told that around 8pm on the fateful day, Titan Hotel, located at Asaolu Close, was holding an event tagged Ladies’ night. At the hotel, one policeman popularly known as Oba was having a drink and dancing with a lady.
“We learnt that Oba left the hotel premises to receive a telephone call but on returning to the hotel, Oba got into a fight with a youth over the lady he was dancing with. The altercation degenerated into fisticuffs and Oba ran out of the premises and called his colleagues for back-up.
“When his colleagues arrived at the scene, a shoot-out ensued. During the shooting, my son, who was on his way home from another party was hit in the head by a stray bullet and died instantly.”

Matrimonial Decree: “Thou Shalt Not Work”

Matrimonial Decree: “Thou Shalt Not Work”
This week has been interesting indeed. I have had the pleasure of meeting some very talented and creative people. From photographers to stylists, to some really beautiful ladies; In fact, there has been no dull moment. I am planning a fashion photo shoot for my clothing/jewelry brand-Chunky jewels and for the last two weeks, I have had the most ridiculous conversations about body parts. I have suffered from ‘mental overload’ and insistently craved Chicken nuggets and milkshake.
Anyway, by Friday I could not take the craving anymore and ended up in McDonald’s with one of my fifty-something year old models. It was a ‘working lunch’ where we spent our time talking about everything except work! As we were stuffing our faces with all the non-healthy foods on the menu, I got a text from another model.
It read- I am sorry I can’t make it to the shoot because my husband doesn’t think modelling is something I should be doing! He says it is beneath me as his wife to be taking photos for a living!
It got worse- I don’t like it but I am married!
To be honest I was very sad. Firstly because I remembered how excited this lady had been when I saw her at the casting. She had a vivacious personality that within 10 minutes of meeting her, I was bowled over by her genuine grace and talent. She had beautiful fluid movements and a lovely smile that I could see she was born to be in front of a camera. I could not help but wonder why she had waited until after three kids (not that you would know from her unbelievably hot body), to follow her dream of modelling.
Secondly- (and this made me want to cry),  why would she give up her career simply because her husband had reservations about it? I mean I had heard of women who stopped work simply because their husbands or in-laws thought it was not a good idea for them to work. I have even heard of those who were given ultimatums to resign or move out of their homes but this case bothered me more than the others. It angered me that even though this woman had left Nigeria many years ago, her thinking hadn’t changed. She still did not see herself as her husband’s equal. Nor did she understand that she owed it to herself to try at least before giving up.
So what if she was married?  Does that make her any less of an individual? Does it mean she no longer has a right to her passions and dreams? Does marriage make a woman unable to think or decide for herself? I may have understood if she had said her husband had reservations about nude photographs or sexual shoots (not that this was going to be anything like it – as the brand is all about African fashion) but to just decree that she may not take part, was in my opinion insensitive.
Personally I believe that marriage is a partnership but when it comes to career, we all are the ‘CEO’s’ of our future. As long as your job doesn’t affect your family life (this applies to men as well) then it is okay to pursue it till the day you get tired. Does that mean I don’t think a man has a stake in his wife’s life? I do… as long as it’s both ways. What I have a problem with is when this is not the case plus the fact that many women (home and abroad) are living in bondage simply because they are married. I don’t see many women determining what jobs their husbands can or cannot do! I cannot even imagine any man rolling over and playing dead if his wife tried to tell him to quit his job. Can you?

The Rivers state government has declared that it may likely stop funding the state police since the essence of the funding is no longer justified. This statement came, following the abduction of three NYSC members in the state.

Patience Jonathan’s excesses must be curbed - Punch Report

A report written by Punch Editorial Board
Each time the wife of the President, Patience Jonathan, hits the road with her long motorcade, including bulletproof and bombproof limousines, or is having a whale of a time at an event, drivers and commuters who find themselves on her routes always have to live with the bitter experience of the encounter. As police empty the roads of traffic, forcing drivers to wait as her glamorous convoy drifts by, motorists are trapped in traffic for hours on end, while social and economic life of the affected community is brought to a halt abruptly.
The recent visit of Mrs. Jonathan to Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital, in which her security details forcibly grounded the movement of residents, is the latest of such excesses that Nigerians have been forced to endure for the past three years. This impunity must stop.
Acording to newspaper reports, Mrs. Jonathan’s security arrangement paralysed activities in the Port Harcourt Government Reservation Area for the four days of her visit. Armoured personnel carriers were deployed at two points, while gun-wielding operatives manned the points leading to her private residence. Many people missed their appointments because they were prevented from moving in and out of their houses.
When she came to Lagos last year, on a “thank-you visit” to some women groups for electing her husband president, she enacted a similar repulsive scenario.  During the visit, Lagos residents were subjected to an unprecedented road blockade, which gave rise to an unnerving five-hour traffic that grounded all human and economic activities. The First Lady was attending that event at Ocean View Restaurant on Adetokunbo Ademola Street, Victoria Island.

Reasons Why Jimoh Ibrahim Should Not Be Allowed Near A Corporate Fraud Seminar As A Guest Speaker By Kingsley Chima

I received with shock and dismay the inclusion of Barrister Jimoh Ibrahim as one of the guest speakers at the workshop jointly organized by the SFU and City Police of London which is to hold between the 1st and 5th of July 2013 at the Oriental hotel. It baffles me why Nigerians forget so easily and in a jiffy while our counterparts in advanced nations keep accurate records which serve as a parameter to accord honour to whom honor is due.
Jimoh Ibrahim is an embodiment of fraud, he is infact a corporate fraud in its entirety; at least with my knowledge of his handling of affairs as the Chairman of Airnigeria. An airline brimming with great staffs, unique structure and promising positioning but for the myopic and wealth amassing management shenanigan of Barrister Jimoh Ibrahim, was ran aground! In spite of being a beneficiary of the Federal Government's Aviation Intervention Fund which was to the tune of 35.5billion Naira .
I have these points to make and leave you to decide the integrity of the Mr Turn-Aground that you have chosen as one of the guest speakers :

That would teach her a very big lesson, instead of cheating, leave the husband.  What a shame. This incident happened in Anambra State of Nigeria. A cheating wife was caught in the act with her boyfriend by her husband and the people in the community took justice into their hands by forcing the cheating partners to have $ex in public while they watch. The husband who couldn’t watch, walked away from the scene to throw away the properties of his cheating wife from his house.  This jungle justice happened in a community near Anambra State University.

Women Are likely To Have An Orgasm With An Attractive Men

Women are more likely
Most women prefer a sensitive New Man to a rugged brute. But according to research, they’re missing out between the sheets.
A study of couples’ sex lives has found that women have more orgasms with men they rated as more masculine and dominant. Unsurprisingly, those with good-looking partners also fared better.
A study into sexual relationships found that women had more orgasms, and at the best times for conception, with men they thought were handsome and dominant.

Most People Think I’m A Lesbian & It’s Very Uncomfortable--Nene Johnson

Nene Johnson
While those in the Western world have openly associated themselves with lesbianism since their laws have legalised the act, Nigerian celebrities have vehemently dissociated themselves from it because it is seen as immoral and unlawful.
It is very common to hear celebs claiming that they are not gays, but are quick to state that they get approached by same sex relationship freaks.
For fast-rising and pretty female singer, Nene Johnson, the fact that some people think she is a lesbian gives her headache. She confessed to Nigeriafilms.com that the impression some people have about her is that she is one, but added that she is not happy about this.
According to the Abia State-born talented and sexy singer, “some people think that I am not straight (sex orientation) and I always tell them that I am very straight.” She added that. “I get approached (by lesbians) all the time. I just try to be friendly and displace them.”
Telling us about how she handles the stubborn ones, the actress said, “I just stubbornly tell them that I am not into it.”
Nene Johnson recently released her single entitled; ‘Tonight’. The song is gradually gaining favourable airplays. She also recently changed her stage name from NEJ to Nene Johnson, which she says is now paying off

Chinese lovers fall to their deaths while making love by window

A couple are believed to have fallen to their deaths when a window they were having sex against gave way. The horrific accident allegedly happened in China when the glass pane shattered.
The tragic man and woman are then understood to have hurtled to their deaths. Eyewitnesses said the couple both fell to the ground as they clinched on to each other.
A source in China said: “With the two of them holding each other tight, they fell out of the building”. Shocking photos in China appear to show the couple on the ground under sheets. Blood is splattered near their bodies on the pavement.
Medical staff and what appear to be police officers can also be seen examining the scene. The man and woman are thought to have fallen out of an apartment in the city of Wuhan, central China.

Wike betrayed me, I personally submitted his name to President Jonathan for ministerial appointment – Amaechi

Rivers State Governor, Mr. Rotimi Amaechi, has said that the Minister of State for Education, Mr. Nyesom Wike, betrayed him despite helping him secure a Ministerial appointment.
Wike, who also hails from the same community as the governor, was Amaechi’s former Chief of Staff.
However, both men have been at loggerheads on issue bordering on the 2015 elections, with Wike supporting the presidency against his former boss.
Amaechi spoke on Saturday during a church service to mark the 60th birthday of the former President of the Nigerian Bar Association, Chief O.C.J. Okocha, at the Emmanuel Anglican Church in Port Harcourt, the state capital.

Three stewards working in the Akwa Ibom state governor's lodge in Asokoro, Abuja was on Friday summarily dismissed by the governor, Godswill Akpabio, over missing bundles of mint fresh dollars valued at over $250,000 (N40 million) kept in the governor's bedroom.
The governor who reportedly issued the instruction to dispense with the services of the political appointees personally found out on Wednesday during his visit to Abuja that four bundles of the foreign currency he left in his bedroom had been stolen while he was gone to a dinner with president Goodluck Jonathan at the Aso Rock Villa.
