Gov. Sullivan Chime & Wife Mrs Clara Deny He Put Her On House Arrest

Governor Sullivan Chime of Enugu State and his wife Mrs Clara Chima have denied reports that the Governor subjected her to house arrest.
According to Punch, Governor Chime made this denial in the presence of some journalists, his wife and her elder brother, Mr. Tony Igwe.
Also present were the governor’s siblings, Mrs. May Oji and Dr. Jide Chime, as well as Mrs. Chime’s neuro-psychiatric doctor, Dr. Aham Agumuo, among a few others.
At the interview session, the governor’s wife denied sending any petition to the National Human Rights Commission alleging unlawful detention by her husband.
She also denied hiring the services of Mr. Femi Falana to seek her freedom from an alleged house arrest at the Governor’s Lodge, Enugu.
Falana had claimed in his letter to media houses and the Inspector-General of Police that he was engaged by the governor’s wife to seek her freedom from alleged house arrest.
The state governor, however, stated that it was “so disturbing” for him to speak out publicly about his wife’s health challenges.
He vowed to do all within his power, no matter the personal pains, to protect her from ridicule.
Well, my wife has some medical challenges and it would be very unkind for me to talk about her condition on the pages of newspapers.
I have done everything to protect her integrity and I’m not now going to expose her to ridicule because some people want to exploit her situation to drag me into a needless war of words,” Chime said.

Banks To Replace ATM Card With Finger Print By Next Year February 14!

The Central Bank of Nigeria and the Bankers Committee on Tuesday sealed a biometric solution pact with a German Firm, Dermalog, for the development of a payment system that would be driven by fingerprints
What this means is unlike the current practice where different instruments are used as means of identification, bank customers will from 2014 be identified through their fingerprints.
Sanusi, while speaking at the signing of the agreement, which was held at the central bank’s headquarters in Abuja, noted that the system would become operational on February 14, 2014.
This move followed the recommendation of a sub-committee chaired by the Group Managing Director, Zenith Bank Plc, Mr. Godwin Emefiele. *winks*
The cost of the project is above $50m and the banks, in their wisdom and in line with their collaborative efforts, are going to be sharing the cost of the project, and no customer is going to be charged for this project.

Order The Release Of Mrs Clara Chime Or Be Dragged To Court, Femi Falana Tells IG

After breaking the story of the unlawful detention of Enugu First Lady, Clara Chime, by her husband, Gov. Sullivan Chime, Sahara Reporters again are reporting that, Human rights lawyer, Femi Falana has taken up the case. Mr Falana is asking the IG to order the release of Mrs Clara Chime or be dragged to court. The reports below;
Human rights lawyer Femi Falana has asked the Inspector-General of Police, Mr. MD Abubakar, to ensure the immediate release from unlawful detention of Mrs. Clara Chime, the First Lady of Enugu State who is being held hostage at Government House Enugu by Governor Sullivan Chime, or be dragged to court.
In a letter dated November 1, 2013, Mr. Falana, representing Mrs. Chime, pointed out that his client has been kept incommunicado in solitary confinement for over four months on the directives of Governor Chime.
“Thus our client’s fundamental rights to the dignity of her person, personal liberty, fair hearing, private and family life and freedom of movement guaranteed by the Constitution and the African Charter on Human and People’s Rights (Ratification and Enforcement) Act, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria 2004 have been violated without any legal justification,” it said.
“Although our client’s dehumanizing detention conditions have had deleterious effects on her psychological state as well as her mental and physical health she has been denied access to her doctors by her abductors,” the petition said.  “It is particularly disturbing to note that some of the police and state security service personnel assigned to secure the safety of the Enugu State governor, his wife and other family members have aided and abetted Mr. Chime in subjecting our client to egregious infringements of her aforesaid fundamental rights.”
It pointed out, however, that unlike the governor who is currently immune from prosecution under the constitution, the police and state security service officials involved in the illegal arrest and detention of Mrs. Chime ought to be sanctioned under the relevant laws.
In a letter exclusively published by SaharaReporters on October 28, Mrs. Chime complained that Governor Chime had placed her under house arrest, and begged human rights bodies to come to her rescue.
She said that eminent personalities such as President and Mrs. Goodluck Jonathan and the Bishop Callistus Onaga of Enugu State and other top priests had attempted to intervene in the matter without success.
Among other things, Mrs. Chime said she had been introduced to two psychiatrists, Dr. Onwukwe and Dr. Agumo, who prescribed “all kinds of drugs that ends up keeping me acute depressed and also drives me into hallucinations.”

PHOTOS: President Slaps 41 Year Old Daughter After Unclad Photos Of Her Surfaced Online

gulnara1
The West is on alert over a possible coup in Uzbekistan as powerful henchmen surrounding 75-year-old ruler Islam Karimov battle with his glamorous but hated daughter Gulnara over the succession to the ailing autocrat.
Ruthless secret services chief Rustam Inoyatov allegedly presented her iron-fisted father a dossier of compromising materials including ‘semi-unclad pictures’ of the ‘Uzbek princess’ and allegations of monumental financial corruption in a bid to permanently discredit her.
This resulted in the incandescent president hurling an ashtray and mobile phone across his desk at his ex-KGB intelligence boss, but also summoning his 41-year-old daughter and slapping her in the face, it has been reported.
Gulnara previously seen as untouchable, was last week stri*ped of her lucrative television and radio holdings in Uzbekistan, in an extraordinary clampdown on the most powerful woman in Central Asia.
The 41-year-old amassed a fortune worth an estimated £400 million under her father’s corrupt rule which began with the fall of the USSR when the gas and cotton rich country gained independence.
It is unclear which allegedly revealing photographs offended the Muslim president – who was once a member of the Soviet Union’s ruling politburo.
However, Gulnara was pictured in April wearing little more than peacock feathers in a shoot.
Karimov summoned his top officials, and accused them of keeping him in the dark over his daughter’s excesses.
‘The President cursed at Prosecutor General Rashid Kadyrov for disguising the truth about financial and other deals of Gulnara Karimova. Interior Minister Matlubov was accused by the President of misleading him.
‘Karimov ordered Inoyatov and Matlubov to immediately arrest all chiefs of counter-corruption divisions of the National Security Service and Interior Ministry, who were aware of those deals and did nothing to counteract them.’
A total of 18 high ranking officials were arrested or dismissed and a number of Gulnara allies fled abroad, it was reported.
After summoning Gulnara, Karmimov first slapped her and then really started to beat Gulnara. He said that she disgraced the family in front of the whole world.
‘The President’s bodyguards tried to calm him down.
‘Later, the President asked all his bodyguards and servants to leave him alone. He did not go into the building of the residence, but decided to have a walk in the garden.
‘At night, while returning to the residence, some bodyguards noticed that he was crying.’
The noose has been tightening gradually on Gulnara who in July was removed as ambassador to the UN in Geneva, and so forfeited her diplomatic immunity. She is reported to be under criminal investigation in France and at least one other European country.

Seven armed robbers, said to have killed two Policemen and wounded several others at Iju-Ishaga area of Lagos State, were yesterday paraded by the Lagos State Police Command. The eighth member of the gang was said to have been killed by the police.
The suspects include a married woman, 28-year-old Taiwo Obafunsho, a mother of two who is also three months pregnant.
Obafunsho said that she knew the gang through one of their girlfriends called Shade, who she met at Mushin where she has a shop.
The other suspects are Ife Olubaba, 29 who is the alleged gang leader; Saheed Wasiu, 23; Sedu Idowu 20; Wasiu Rafiu, 23; Odelade Kabiru, 26; Waliu Sanni, 29, and Taiye Agege said to be dead.
The suspects were found with two AK-47 rifles, one automatic pump-action gun, four locally-made pistols, two fully-loaded AK-47 magazines, 135 live cartridges and a Hyundai Tucson sports utility vehicle, number plate MUS 350 BG.
In his confession, Rafiu said: “The first operation we went for was at Agege and I was given N10,000. I was arrested at Oshodi.
“I did not know anything about it. But because they saw Taiye and me together, I was arrested. I did not even know what was happening. I did not follow them during the second operation.”
Another suspect, Sanni, said they took three vehicles for the operation, but that they did not find anything or any body to rob.
Confirming the incident, Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Ngozi Braide stated that it was a follow-up to what happened on November 3, where some robbers attacked policemen attached to Iju Police Station in Lagos at 3a.m.
“On October 9, when a group of armed robbers carted away two police riffles, the Commissioner of Police, Umar Manko, directed the officer in charge of SARS Ikeja, SP Abba Kyari, to launch a massive manhunt for the robbers and recover the snatched rifles.
“Police efforts paid off when eight of the armed robbers, led by one Ife Olubaba, a boy to Godogodo, kingpin of South-West armed robbers, were arrested at various locations in Lagos and Ogun states.
“During the exchange of fire between the armed robbers and crack SARS operatives, one Taiye Agege was fatally wounded.”
She said all the arrested suspects confessed to have taken part in the Iju operation, where Policemen were fired. She said efforts were on to arrest the remaining gang members.

Ghanian Authorities Stop Aki & Pawpaw, Others from Shooting a Movie

aki_pawpaw
Popular Nigerian actors Aki & Pawpaw, Kwadjo ‘Liwin’ Nkansah and other actors have been suddenly stopped from shooting a movie in Kumasi, Ghana.
aki_pawpawThe directive which came from the Film Producers’ Association of Ghana (FIPAG) was due to the fact that the director of the movie had breached some of the association’s regulations.
The public relations officer (PRO) for the Association, Mr. Michael Ola, disclosed this in an exclusive interview with NYDJlive.
The PRO explained that the FIPAG had no qualms with the Nigerian duo but believed the right procedure had to be followed, especially when the new executives of the Association had laid out new strategies to make the industry a better one.
Therefore, the duo has been asked to officially obtain documents from the Film Industry in Nigeria, working permit, as well as make payments for the continuation of the shoot.
It has been learnt that Peace and Love Productions, the production house which is in charge of the movie, had already commenced with procedure to make things easy for the continuation of the movie.
It would be recalled that Aki and Pawpaw got their fame in the mid 2000′s, when Nigerian movies became the toast of many across Ghana, and also for their intelligence in outwitting others in their movies.

APC Governors Are Now 23, Says Rochas

okorocha_mdg
Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State yesterday in Kano said that the victory of All Progressive Congress (APC) in the 2015 general elections “has been signed, sealed and delivered” based on the caliber of persons in the party and the number of governors – which he put at 23 – under the platform of the party.
Speaking on behalf of APC governors, who were part of a high powered delegation that were in Kano to woo Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso to the party, Okorocha described APC as a movement that is unstoppable.
“APC is not a political party. It is a movement; movement for the liberation of our people, movement to rescue Nigeria from its ugly present situation. If you go to APC states, you see government and democracy in action. We have chosen direction. We are carefully selected by God at this critical time to bring about positive change in Nigeria. So we are here my brother (Kwankwaso) to invite you.
“Lest you get worried because coming to a place, a new party, and leaving your old party, you may want to know what is in there for you. And it is proper we assure you as colleagues that governors have their due respect in APC. We are the chief security officers of our states; we are the leaders of the party in our states and we do accord leadership to the leaders of the leaders.
“So I want to stand here to tell you that already, with three people if we succeed in this arrangement we shall be having 19 governors, but actually (you shouldn’t tell anyone), we are 23 in number.
“The entire governors in APC are 23 in number. Four have begged us that they will not join now because of the fear of victimization by EFCC and some other arms used to harass some governors. So they have pleaded with us to give them a little time. Before next year all of them will come and there are two big political juggernauts of the PDP that will join us at the apex. But they say they won’t join now until that boat (PDP) finally crumbles.
“We started with Kano today because we know what it represents in Nigerian politics and we came to you (Kwankwaso) because you are doing well. If you are a governor that is not doing well, we will not come to you. APC does not go for people who do not do well. From the airport to this venue we have seen a lot of changes. Kano is working better and more efficient. So you should get up and go with us,” Gov. Okorocha said.

Photos: D’Banj Flops In Zimbabwe, Gets Booed Off Stage

Kokomaster Dbanj was supposed to storm and take over Zimbabwe last weekend at the Lion Lager Summer Beer Festival dubbed the "Battle of Africa" but according to reports from Zimbabwe, our man delivered a very lukewarm performance that eventually had him booed off stage.
According to AllAfrica, the festival featured Ugandan reggae musician Bebe Cool and local dancehall artistes Winky D, Guspy Warrior and King Shaddy.
D'Banj represented West Africa while Bebe Cool represented East Africa.
D'Banj was the main attraction and when it was turn for him to perform, he exploded onto the stage
amid pomp and zest but soon fizzled out and slumped into near- pornography with some fans.
He ran out of steam after exhausting his familiar songs in less than an hour and went into what many revellers described as "hogwash".
His opening song was "Fall in Love", followed by "Oliver Twist", "Kukere" remix, "Don't Tell Me Nonsense", "Igwe" and "Why Me". Then he lost the plot.
Neither his scantily dressed dancers nor his swag was enough to sway the majority of the crowd that became visibly restless and disappointed.
So disappointing was his performance that he resorted to X-rated antics with ladies he calls "Kokolates" on the stage, in a bid to kill time.
Among the "Kokolates" was songstress Ammara Brown, who jumped on stage and joined in the dirty dancing.
"Let me see all my Kokolates on stage, now shake your boom boom and do the catwalk," he said, amid boos from the crowd, especially men.
Some disgruntled fans hurled insults and obscenities.
D'Banj failed to impress and was the opposite of the Nigerian twins P-Square who performed at the same festival last year and left fans asking for more.
P-Square were even barred from leaving the stage by fans who craved for more.
"This guy should not have been the main act at the show. He has a few hit songs we know that he has performed. Now look at how he is whiling up the remaining time with the ladies," said a fan in the crowd.

Markets In Lagos To Be Shut For Oba Akiolu’s Birthday

OBA-RILWAN-AKIOLU
Markets in Lagos may be shut tomorrow for the 70th birthday celebration of the Oba of Lagos, Rilwan Akiolu, just days after markets were shut to celebrate the installation of former governor Bola Tinubu’s daughter, Mrs Folashade Tinubu-Ojo, as Iyaloja General of Nigeria.
A trader who deals in textile materials at Balogun Market said she is yet to make up for the loss recorded because of the closure of markets on Tuesday, lamenting why she will have to face another closure just days later.
Traders at Jankara market situated on the Island are also apprehensive about the impending closure.
Although no confirmation yet from the Iga Idunganran palace of the royal father, many Lagosians opined that, “if markets could be shut for Tinubu’s daughter’s installation, no one should be surprised to see them shut for the king’s birthday.”

Bayelsa State Govt Demolishes Gov. Dickson’s Private Residence, No Compensation!

Bayelsa State Government on Wednesday demolished a one-storey private building owned by Governor Seriake Dickson because it obstructed the Right-of-Way as well as intruding on the state Capital City Master Plan.
Deputy Governor John Jonah told journalists that the location of the Governor’s house obstructed the Right-of-Way, hence there would be no compensation for him.
He said:
In line with the development control of the CCDA and urban renewal of the state, the government awarded contract for the dualisation of the road. Anyone who has built structures on the Right-of-Way should expect such buildings to be demolished.
One of the houses we have found to have interfered with the plan of Yenagoa is this one-storey structure belonging to the Governor.
On the advice of the CCDA that is concerned with development control of the state, the house was marked since last year for demolition. And you know we have awarded contract for the dualisation of the Opolo Road.”
However, some Yenagoa residents on Wednesday, according to Punch, claimed that only a section of Dickson’s building was demolished, and that the exercise was a strategy to enable the government to demolish buildings of perceived opponents without causing public outrage.

Photo: 40 Years Old Widow Caught With A Day Old Dead Baby In A Sack In Lagos

A 40-year old widow who simply identified herself as Mujidat was caught on Wednesday with a dead day old baby she hid inside a sack around her residence at 2, Reverend Alimi Street, NEPA Phase I, Ijagemo in Iba Local Council Development Area of Lagos State.
OTOHMILLAR learnt that a member of the community, High Chief Babatunde Balogun caught the mother of seven when she was  trying to dispose the baby at about 5 p.m. on Wednesday.
When questioned on the content of the sack, she claimed she was coming from the market where she bought some household items.
However, on a closer look, Balogun discovered that the sack contained a dead day old baby the woman allegedly had just delivered.
He then called the attention of the other residents.
Neighbours told OTOHMILLAR hat after Mujidat’s husband known as Baba Mushin died about three years ago, they have seen men visiting her residence, the house built by her late husband.
When asked if she planned to throw away the baby because of an alleged paternity mess, she denied, claiming  that a welder turned block maker near her residence was responsible for the pregnancy that resulted in the birth of the dead baby she was caught with.
She claimed she took delivery of the baby by herself because she found it easy and therefore did not go to any hospital or sought anybody’s  help.
At about 9 p.m yesterday whenOTOHMILLAR visited the area, residents of the area were still milling around the residence of the woman.
Officials of the Community Development Association, CDA, in the area later accompanied the woman and her sack of baby to the Isheri-Oshun Police Division where the matter was reported.
At the time of this report, the woman was still being interrogated
