Bube Okorodudu CarLinks Boss To Be Arraigned Over Alleged N 82.8m Theft

An Ikeja High Court on Thursday adjourned the arraignment of Bube Okorodudu, the Chairman of a popular transport company over the alleged theft of N82.8 million till February 12, 2014.
The arraignment, which had earlier been fixed for today Thursday, 6th February had to be adjourned as it was not listed for hearing by the court in its cause list.
Okorodudu and his transport firm, Cross Country Ltd., will be arraigned alongside another company, Car Link Ltd on February 12 before Justice Lateef Lawal-Akapo, by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
They are facing a nine-count charge of conspiracy, stealing, forgery and uttering.
The EFCC counsel, Mr Francis Usani, alleged that the defendants conspired among themselves to commit the offences between February and August, 2009.
Usani said they stole the money through the fraudulent sale of 17 units of Volkswagen transporter buses belonging to AG Moeller Ltd.
He told the court that the buses were fraudulently sold to GMT Nigeria Ltd; Multichoice Nigeria Ltd; and Law Union and Rock/TFS Finance Ltd.
He also accused the defendants of forging a document entitled: “Nigeria Customs Service Motor Vehicle Duty Certificate,” to facilitate the alleged stealing.
The prosecutor said the offences contravened Sections 390, 467 and 468 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2003.
If found guilty, Okorodudu might be facing between 7 and 20 years imprisonment.culled

Sanusi Lamido Accuses Jide Omokore’s 7energy of Embezzling over $20billion

The Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria on Tuesday opened yet another chapter in the ongoing Senate committee’s probe of allegedly unremitted oil proceeds.
At the hearing, the CBN Governor named Seven Energy as one of the companies to which funds were diverted
when the session opened, the Chairman read a welcome address stating that only those who submitted written memorandum will be given the opportunity to speak.
He indicated that memoranda were received from CBN, NEITI and FIRS
Afterwards, he yielded the floor to the Director General of Budget to give a report on the reconciliation effort.
The DG Budget stated that from the reconciliation, $10.8bn is the amount that is outstanding and that NNPC has made significant progress in providing documentation to account for the money. He also stated that more time is needed to complete the reconciliation. The DG therefore asked for additional 1 week.
The Committee called for PPPRA but its Executive Secretary was not present. A representative of the Executive Secretary of PPPRA who did not speak very confidently explained that further time was needed in order to reconcile the figures.
Commenting, Senator Bukola Saraki stated that the response from the DG of Budget and PPPRA representative did not inspire confidence. He asked why the FMF waited for CBN Governor to raise the alarm before embarking on the reconciliation. DG of Budget responded that reconciliation is carried out on monthly basis and it is a continuous process.
CBN Governor submitted as follows:
That oil revenue which should accrue to the Federation Account from NPDC’s is being diverted to private companies; Atlantic Energy and Seven Energy.
That as a result of this there is a non- remittance of $6bn of gross crude revenue that ought to be remitted to the Federation account by NPDC as part of the divested assets.
That NNPC stated that a major component of the $10.8bn was spent on kerosene and PMS subsidy. The Governor indicated that he has evidence of a presidential directive stopping subsidy in respect of kerosene and therefore declared subsidy illegal and should be refunded to the Federation Account.
Finally the CBN Governor stated that from his calculation, of the $67bn crude oil lifted; only $47Bn has been remitted leaving a balance of $20bn.
NEITI was then asked to present its audit of the oil industry/NNPC. The NEITI representative stated unequivocally that the audit has just commenced and would not be ready until after 9 months.
The Chairman then demanded that all who were unable to attend including CME and HMPR for one reason or the other should attend the next hearing and all submissions should have been made before then.
He adjourned the sitting to Thursday 13th February, 2014 and requested that all submissions must reach the Senate Committee by February 7, 2014......culled

Photo: How I Got Married To My Own Father Without Knowing- Woman Tells Her Story

`It was a dark secret. The kind that destroys lives, devastates families and decimates faith. Nobody shared it in any way with Valerie Spruill while her "husband" was alive. Four years after his death, she heard bits of the story. It was something about an absentee father, something about her husband. None of it made sense. That’s not until her uncle finally told her what no one else had: She had unknowingly married the father she never knew.
“I don’t know if he ever knew or not. That conversation didn’t come up,” she said. “I think if he did know, there is no way he could have told me.” “It is devastating. It can destroy you!” Spruill told CNN late Thursday by telephone. “It almost did.” 60-year-old Spruill of Doylestown, Ohio, went public with her story this month, first published in the Akron Beacon Journal, with the hopes that it would help others facing what seem like insurmountable problems. It’s a story that has gone viral, attracting attention as faraway as Australia and India where the questions are always the same, she says: How could that happen? It’s a question that Spruill said she has been grappling with since she first learned the truth in 2004, six years after her "husband" Percy Spruill died. She confirmed her "husband" was indeed her father through a DNA test, hair taken from one of his brushes.
The aftermath of the secret was devastating emotionally — and physically, Spruill suffered two strokes and was diagnosed with diabetes. All of it, she believes was brought on by learning the family secret. “Pain and stress will kill, and I had to release my stress,” Spruill said. “I’m just telling the story to release my pain.” She has a deep, abiding faith in God, who she believes has guided her through the experience — and others that have shaped her life.“You have to have faith,” she said. “If God brought me this far, He’s not going to leave me now.” Spruill met and married her husband/father in Akron and settled in Doylestown, a working class suburb of not more than 2,300 people. It was her second marriage. Spruill was a nice man, a good provider.
He was kind to her three children from her previous marriage. “We had a good life,” she said. She initially struggled with anger, with hating Spruill for what happened. But therapy taught her what happened wasn’t her fault. Her faith taught her to forgive. Initial response to her story has been mixed: “More positive than negative,” she says. In recent days, she has been in contact with a couple who found out after they were married that they were brother and sister. They told her, she said, that her story is helping them deal with their own experience. “They are trying to be friends now,” Spruill said. Others, though, have been less kind.
“They’ve said things like ‘Some secrets should stay secrets,’” she said. “I can’t do anything about what they think. I just know what I think. God is always mighty, and he teaches you to tell the truth no matter what.” Spruill knows not everybody tells the truth. It’s a lesson she learned as a child the hard way. By all accounts, Spruill’s mother got pregnant as a teenager while dating her then 15-year-old father. She was 3-months-old when she was sent to live with her grandmother and grandfather, who she initially believed as she grew up was her father. Spruill said at about age 8 or 9, she discovered that the woman who often visited the house was not a family friend but her mother. But nobody, she said, talked about her father. There’s nobody left to give her the answers about her husband-father. Her mother, Christine, died in 1984. Her grandparents have long since passed. So, too, have a number of Percy Spruill’s relatives.
Spruill knows her mother worked as a prostitute and even got caught up in 1980 high-profile corruption scandal surrounding James Barbuto, a probate judge who was convicted of intimidating investigators and gross sexual imposition for attacking a courthouse clerk in his chambers. “My mother showed me lots of love. All said and done, I have no regrets in my life at all,” she said. She believes she has siblings or half-siblings from Spruill’s previous relationships, including the one with her mother. She said she wants to find them and let them know they are not alone. Spruill, herself, has three children and eight grandchildren. She struggled with telling her children that the man they believed was their step-father was their grandfather.
A therapist “advised me to tell my kids,” she said. “I told them about two years ago. They are remarkable. They are handling it better than I am.” In recent days, shortly before the news broke, she also told her grandchildren. “They have been so supportive.
They are telling me they love me, telling me they will do whatever I need,” she said. In her spare time, since retiring from accounting department where she worked for 34 years at Goodyear, she has been writing down her story with the hopes of publishing it. “I thank God that he gave me a chance to live through all of these,” she said. “It is nothing short of a miracle that I’m still here. I want people to know that they can survive something like this.”

"If pastor Ajanaku had greeted me, he wouldn't have died" - Guru Maharaj Ji

Self proclaimed Messiah of the world, Guru Maharaj Ji in an exclusive chat with City People spoke on the repercussions that come when evil is spoken of him or disrespect is meted against his person. He said in the interview that the late Pastor Ajanaku who passed away in controversial circumstances last year August died as as result of his disrespect to him.
When asked what his take is on the impression that his faithfuls are criminals, Guru Mahaj Ji saids
"That is the work of people who wouldn't stop at anything in running you down. Take for instance Olanrewaju Adepoju is one of them, Pastor Ajanaku even Okotie. Many of them who distorted the truth that Maharaj Ji is this and that and they believe in it without even knowing that it is a trap. Even Idahosa, where are they today? Yes they offended the holyspirit that sent me here. The bible says know the truth and tell the truth. I remember when I went for a programme at NUJ Press Centre Ibadan and I met late Pastor Ajanaku, If he had said "goodmorning o Guru, that boy wouldnt have died. The moment he met this light and the light was for him to be saved. I want to tell you that things that are happening on the planet are not coincidence, it has been planned by the creator. If one abide with one mind, one will always escape the dangers and that was it. Things that he is not supposed to say, he started saying it and the problem started".
When asked to elaborate on his statement about Pastor Ajanaku not greeting him and that leading to his death, Guru Maharaj Ji responded
"He wouldn't have died. It is like this, when a human being is possessed it is just like ....let's take the case of Idahosa for example. When I was in Benin, they blocked my bus. He went further to say that the stature of the Oba of Benin is an Idol. No, dont do evil, that is it. You don't carry bible in your head, no, bible is not working in Europe, na nuclear bomb o. Bible is not working in Uganda, na bomb they work there. So in Pastor Ajanaku's case, he should have given me my respect the moment he saw me"

Afrocandy talks About Having Sex With D'Banj

Oprah Winfrey Celebrates Her 60th Birthday

Oprah Winfrey turned 60 yesterday, and to celebrate, she recalled some of the biggest moments in her life so far in an open, and very heartfelt, letter.
Culled from Huffington Post, please read the wonderful, inspiring letter:
Sixty. I'm turning 60 this month! I'm so glad I've lived long enough to say those words and celebrate their meaning. I'm turning 60. I'm alive. Healthy. Strong.
I'm turning 60, and—please don't take offense—I no longer have to be concerned about what anyone thinks of me! (You know, the old Am I doing it right? Am I saying it right? Am I being what or who I'm "supposed" to be?) I'm turning 60, and I've earned the right to be just as I am. I'm more secure in being myself than I've ever been.
I am in awe of the way my journey here on earth continues to unfold. My life has been marked
by miracles for as long as I can recall -- and even before. (My entire existence is the result of a onetime frolic under an oak tree.) My early days speaking in a Mississippi Methodist church -- Baptist leanings, shoutin', and Holy Ghost included -- prepared me for a future of speaking in a public arena I could never have imagined.

Billionaire who offered £40million to anyone who could 'turn' his lesbian daughter straight doubles his offer after 20,000 would-be suitors failed

Cecil Chao, chairman of Hong Kong property developer Cheuk Nang Holdings Unfazed: Gigi Chao says she is on 'very loving terms' with her father and was not upset by his bounty pledge
The Hong Kong billionaire playboy who offered nearly £40million to any man who could turn his homosexual daughter straight, has now doubled the 'dowry'.
Cecil Chao raised the reward to HK$1million (£80million) after thousands of eligible bachelors failed to convince his daughter Gigi to marry any of them.
The 77-year-old property magnate insists that 34-year-old Gigi is 'still single' despite the fact that she married her long-term partner Sean Eav two years ago.
Mr Chao told a Malaysian newspaper that despite offering HK$500million, approximately £40million, and 20,000 men registering their interest in taking up the quest, Gigi is still not in a straight marriage.
He said that he did not want to interfere with his daughter’s private life, but that he wanted her to have 'a good marriage and children'.
In response, Ms Chao said that although her wife had been left 'distraught' by her father's interview, she found it easier to ignore - even offering to comply with the terms, as long as the man in question donated a large part of the money to charity, and did not mind that she is already married.
'I don’t think my dad’s offering of any amount of money would be able to attract a man I would find attractive,' she told South China Morning Post.
Definitely not single: Gigi Chao, right, and her partner Sean Eav, have been together for nine years and married in Paris in 2012
Definitely not single: Gigi Chao, right, and her partner Sean Eav, have been together for nine years and married in Paris in 2012
'Alternatively, I would be happy to befriend any man willing to donate huge amounts of money to my charity Faith in Love, provided they don’t mind that I already have a wife.
'Third and lastly, thank you Daddy, I love you too.'
‘I'm not saying that she's not okay to be gay,’ Cecil Chao told ABC News 20/20 in October 2012.
‘I mean it's her own choice and her own tendency, but she should make sure she knows what she wants. Maybe what she wants today is different [than] what she wants in the future.’
Ms Chao married her long-term partner Sean in a church ceremony in Paris in early 2012, but it was not until news of their union was printed in the Hong Kong tabloids that her father promised the million HKD fortune to any potential male suitor able to walk Gigi down the aisle.
Ms Chao had already told her father about her wedding, and said he was ‘surprised and unpleasantly shocked,’ but urged her not to make it public.
Deal: Ms Chao offered to comply with the terms, as long as the man in question donated a large part of the 'reward' to her charity, and did not mind that she already has a wife

Pastor Inserts Manhood Into Teenager During 'Spiritual Delivery'

Pastor Kingsley General Overseer of Zion International Christian Church, Idah, Kogi State, may have landed in trouble for his alleged uncontrolled sexual appetite.
The pastor was alleged to have slept with one Mary, daughter of his sunday school teacher on the pretext that the lady was possessed with demons which could only be exorcised through sex thus having carnal knowledge of the 18-year old girl
According to the state Commissioner of Police, Seidu Madawaki who paraded the suspect before newsmen, the bubble burst for Pastor Kingsley when his attempt to abort the pregnancy was refused by the victim.
“ After impregnating the girl, he attempted to abort the pregnancy by giving her some liquid substances mixed with olive oil which she refused to drink”,
Speaking with Crime Watch, the victim said she came to join her parent from the village around November last year when the pastor spotted her in the church on the pretext that she had ‘a wild demonic spirit’ in her and then ordered her to see him after the church service for deliverance.
Frightened, she said she went to meet the pastor immediately after the service. “He told me that my waist and private parts have been ravaged by demons and until deliverance was carried out, I may not be able to have any child in life.  “ The Man of God’ frightened me and said he would only cast out the demons from me through sexual intercourse but he warned me not to tell anybody on the mode of deliverance.
“After praying into an olive oil, he asked me to undress while he  rubsed my waist and private parts with the anointing  oil mixed with some substances , he then undressed himself and used the same oil  on his private part before he descended on me and started to do the thing.”
“But I discovered that I was pregnant last week when my mother noticed my conduct and I had to reveal everything to her even though he warned me not to tell anybody,” She revealed.
However, the 37-year old pastor denied the allegation saying, that all he did was to cast out the demons in her, using the anointing oil
He said that some church members who were envious of his spiritual rise were the one who ganged up against him because his ministry was experiencing ‘exponential growth’
The CP warned parents to put more attention on their female children even in religious centres,  saying there are many fake pastors outside there.culled

"Not having sex for 2 years feels good" -Dencia

The singer and businesswoman tells Encomium magazine
"Sex is overrated and sex is for lovers who are trying to make babies. I am not trying to do so, it is not in my agenda. Not having sex for two years feels good. I am saving energy and mileage. I have better things to waste energy on. I want to wait till after marriage because I am not in a rush. Marriage is a commitment. I just don't see myself falling inlove, having sex and being both heart broken. I have never been heartbroken. I can't take a heartbreak..and men these days expect anything from them. To avoid heartbreak, if I meet any serious man we will meet the families, no sex for over six months, so in the process they might find out they don't like me so I can quit easily."

"My Boy friend can't cheat on me because I satisfy him in everything" - Angela Okorie

Ex Delta soap model cum actress, Angela Okorie in a chat with Sunday Express Entertainment says it takes a man who doesn't get everything from his wife to cheat on her. When asked if she can ever leave her matrimonial home on the bases of infidelity, the pretty actress responded:
"In the first place, it will take a lot before my husband can go for another woman. That can only happen when I don't satisfy him in everything, which I do. It is only when a woman does not satisfy her man in everything that he goes in search of other women." (Erm..I don't think I agree with this). She continues " I've never caught my husband with another woman, so I don't believe all men are polygamous in nature. I don't think so. There are good men and I married one."
