A popular Lagos prophet is living with the shame of his life as he was caught pants down with a female church member on her matrimonial bed.
The prophet identified as I.T. Adewoye is one of the top spiritual leaders in Cherubim and Seraphim Church and things may turn out sour as a result of his alleged uncontrolled sexual appetite. This same prophet is said to be the spiritual father of an influential politician in Nigeria.
According to reports, Prophet Adewoye is the founder of “Ayo Ni O”at the at the Idimu District in Alimosho Local Government Area of Lagos State. He was caught by the husband of his mistress at her matrimonial home after months of suspicion and setting trap for the randy old man.
After he caught the prophet with his wife in action, the angry husband raised an alarm and took photos of the two of them without clothes, after which he dragged the prophet to a police station at Idimu.
The prophet is however begging for forgiveness from the woman’s husband.“It is the work of the devil” He said.

Father padlocks son’s mouth, beats him to death in Lagos

The incident occurred on Monday afternoon at 7, Adetola Adelaja Street, Meiran area of Lagos. It was gathered that the man, Mr. Chris Elvis, who claims to sell computer accessories, allegedly locked his son, Godrich in the room, padlocked his mouth and beat him to death with an object that inflicted deep cuts all over his body, claiming that the boy was an Ogbanje (evil child that dies and reincarnates repeatedly).The man landed in trouble when his landlady, Mrs Popoola who was in the market, was informed that something was happening in her house. She rushed home and discovered that the boy had been beaten to death by his father.
She rushed to Meiran Police Station to report the matter. The police stormed the house around 9 O’clock on Monday night to arrest Elvis who was about to escape.
After allegedly killing the boy, he locked him in one of his rooms. He told the police that nothing happened but when the police forced the locked room open, they found the dead boy with padlock in his mouth.
Husband of the landlady, Mr. Olusola Adejumo told P.M.NEWS that the deceased boy was four years old and that the man had been acting strange since he packed into the compound last year.
According to him, when Elvis came into the compound about six months ago, he came with his children and wife and that he claimed to sell computer accessories, adding that in the first two weeks of his stay in the house, he beat up his wife thoroughly.
He said he had gone to the police station to report the incident and that the police invited them to settle the matter and warned Elvis not to beat his wife again or he would be arrested.
Adejumo explained that sometime ago, the man travelled with his family and did not return with his wife, but came with the four-year old boy and another woman, whom he claimed was now his wife because he had parted ways with his former wife.
He said that on Monday, his new wife rushed out of the house shouting for help that the man wanted to kill his son, adding that the man came out of the house and chased his wife with a cutlass, calling the woman a witch.
It was gathered that the man came back into his room and locked it, padlocked the boy’s mouth and beat him till he died.
The police at Meiran took the boy’s corpse away and deposited it at the Ota General Hospital, while the man was detained and would be transferred to Area ‘M’ Police Division in Lagos later for further investigation.
After the incident on Monday, the police also arrested the landlady who came to report the matter at the police station and detained her till Tuesday morning, while allegedly demanding for N50,000 to bail the innocent woman.
A tenant in the house, Apostle Freedom Damian said Elvis had been a strange man in the house as he do not talk to anybody and was always keeping to himself and nobody could ask him questions.
He described the murder of the boy as gruesome and cruel.
Tenants living in the same compound with Elvis never knew his name and could not tell P.M.NEWS reporter his name because he does not interact with people.

'How T.B. Joshua Took My Wife' – Pastor Peter Kayode Opens Up

Pastor Peter Kayode Falarungbon is the Head Pastor of Awakeners Chapel International. He was the first Head Pastor of the Ghana branch of T.B. Joshua's Church, Synagogue Church of All Nations.
In the latest edition of the world acclaimed Nigerian Religious magazine-Lifeway, Pastor Kayode reveals how the Head Pastor of the Synagogue Church of All Nations, Prophet T.B. Joshua, virtually sent him into exile in Ghana in order to have canal knowledge of his (Pastor Kayode's) wife, Lola.
This is his story:
It was in 1991 that my wife, Lola, and I went to the Synagogue. We went there because we had been married for nine years without any child. When we met Joshua he looked like a gentleman, a kind person and someone that could be relied on. I saw him as someone representing God because of his physical and outward appearance. Within two weeks of our going there, he had gotten very close to my wife. That got me concerned but then I concluded that it could be because my wife hailed from the village next to his in Ondo State, Nigeria.
One day my former wife told me that the Prophet wanted her to work with him; that she had to do this before God could answer our prayer for a child. Since I did not want to be an obstacle, I gave her the go ahead. Suddenly I found myself going there every day because we wanted the fruit of the womb. One day, Lola told me the Prophet wanted to see me. T.B. Joshua told me God wanted to use me and that I should surrender myself to the service of the lord. It was a big battle in my heart and with my family but finally I succumbed.
The first thing he did was to relocate me from where I lived in a three bedroom apartment at Ipaja road. He gave me a Chamber and hall at Ikoutun Egbe. He told me that if I wanted to serve the Lord, I have to separate myself from the world, from my family and my friends. That was the beginning of my journey. I abandoned my parents and refused to see any of my siblings. I was placed in the evangelical department to study the scriptures. However, because of my Salvation Army background, I found loopholes in some of the things he taught us but I could not openly challenge him.
He later asked my wife to move into the church permanently, while I continue to stay in the chamber and hall. I would leave the house in the morning, go straight to the church and return home in the evening alone. On Sunday mornings, she would rush in early in the morning around 6am, take a change of clothing and rush back to the church. Anytime I showed my desire for intimacy, she will refuse on the grounds that the Prophet said we should not engage in sex yet.
After going through the Bible Training course for about three to four years, most of my colleagues left. I was one of two or three people who remained from my set. After a while, a Ghanaian named Ben and I came to Ghana in 1997 to plan a crusade, We contacted the Ghana Pentecostal Council and we marketed Joshua very well to them even though many of them did not know him. We returned to Nigeria and about months later. I was sent back to Ghana to start a fellowship. We began to grow from there. Up till this time, my former wife remained in Lagos; we could not talk on the phone and I could not talk to my family as well. Once in a while, maybe once in six months or once in a year, Joshua would call me and put my wife on the line. Our conversation usually went like this: “How are you?” “I am fine.” “Well I just want to find out if you are okay.” That was all. Meanwhile, the real reason why we went to Synagogue was yet to be resolved – that was our childlessness.
At some point during the years, I began to awaken from my spiritual slumber. I took a series of decisions. One of them was I must see my parents. Early one morning, while in Lagos on his orders, I left Ikotun Egbe at 5.am.for Agege and traced my parents. They received me coldly. I was not in the least surprised. But then my mum later disclosed to me that my wife had told one of my old friends that Joshua told her it was impossible for her to conceive through me, that the lack of conception was my fault.
An incident I witnessed convinced me there was something between Joshua and my wife. Joshua used to flog his followers, old and young. I was privy to him trying to flog my wife once, but she just walked out on him without anything happening. For her to have the guts to walk out on him when he was flogging others convinced me there was more to their relationship.
The allegation of my wife with the connivance of T.B Joshua that I could not father a child continued to bother me. I battled with temptation. I came to a decision that I needed to remarry in order to prevent falling for temptation and also to prove to Joshua, Lola and everyone who believed the lie that they were wrong. In Ghana, I met a lady here and I told her everything about my situation. And she agreed to my proposal. To the glory of God she got pregnant. I jubilantly announced to my parents, “I told you there was nothing wrong with me!
Five days before my father passed on, he insisted on speaking with me. But because none of siblings had my telephone number they could not reach me. Eventually, my father persuaded my siblings to take him to The Synagogue to meet with Joshua. He was sure that through Joshua a call would be placed to me.

Unfortunately, when they got to The Synagogue they were left at the gate unattended to for two hours. They sent for my former wife and briefed her. She went inside to return two hours later to tell them that the Prophet was not available to see them. They had to return home. The next day, my father passed on. That was why my siblings shunned me. Right there I made up my mind to leave The Synagogue. I told myself it was time to leave!

1,000 Bodies Found Buried In University Of Mississippi Campus Ground

While surveying land for a new parking lot at the University of Mississippi Medical Center, officials made a grisly discovery: more than 1,000 bodies thought to have been patients at the old Mississippi State Lunatic Asylum.
The unnamed, century-old graves present a problem for the university, whose expansion plans could be halted over the cost of relocating the bodies.
Dr. James Keeton, dean of the medical school, said that moving the remains to a new burial site would cost an estimated $3 million — that’s $3,000 per body.
“We can’t afford that,” Keeton said, according to USA Today.
Instead of moving the bodies, the expansion will most likely be relocated to another location on the 164-acre campus. It’s possible there could be more unmarked graves belonging to tuberculosis patients, former slaves, or possibly even Civil War dead, according to the Clarion-Ledger.
Experts think that future additions to the medical center and other buildings on campus will have to be reconsidered.
Opened 1855, the Mississippi State Lunatic Asylum operated on the UMMC site until 1935, when it moved to its present location at Whitfield, according to USA Today.

Gay Nigerians flood Netherlands embassy seeking asylum

The Embassy of the Netherlands in Nigeria has confirmed that it has received some applications for asylum by some Nigerians who fear persecution following the recent signing into law the anti-gay bill by President Jonathan, Thisday reports.
Netherlands is a gay-friendly country. The embassy sent an email to Thisday some days ago saying that despite receiving these applications, it was neither involved in processing any application for asylum seekers nor does it have the power to grant asylum to applicants.
"The embassy has received a small number of applications for asylum by Nigerians. It is not possible to apply for asylum at the embassy. We inform the applicants likewise but we do not register the number of applications made. At this stage, it is not possible to make predictions. That would be speculation. However, when people become increasingly aware that it is not possible to apply for asylum at the embassy, one could expect a decrease. The embassy is not involved in the asylum process, neither in the application nor in the determination of the authenticity of claims.”

Bube Okorodudu CarLinks Boss To Be Arraigned Over Alleged N 82.8m Theft

An Ikeja High Court on Thursday adjourned the arraignment of Bube Okorodudu, the Chairman of a popular transport company over the alleged theft of N82.8 million till February 12, 2014.
The arraignment, which had earlier been fixed for today Thursday, 6th February had to be adjourned as it was not listed for hearing by the court in its cause list.
Okorodudu and his transport firm, Cross Country Ltd., will be arraigned alongside another company, Car Link Ltd on February 12 before Justice Lateef Lawal-Akapo, by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
They are facing a nine-count charge of conspiracy, stealing, forgery and uttering.
The EFCC counsel, Mr Francis Usani, alleged that the defendants conspired among themselves to commit the offences between February and August, 2009.
Usani said they stole the money through the fraudulent sale of 17 units of Volkswagen transporter buses belonging to AG Moeller Ltd.
He told the court that the buses were fraudulently sold to GMT Nigeria Ltd; Multichoice Nigeria Ltd; and Law Union and Rock/TFS Finance Ltd.
He also accused the defendants of forging a document entitled: “Nigeria Customs Service Motor Vehicle Duty Certificate,” to facilitate the alleged stealing.
The prosecutor said the offences contravened Sections 390, 467 and 468 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2003.
If found guilty, Okorodudu might be facing between 7 and 20 years imprisonment.culled

The Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria on Tuesday opened yet another chapter in the ongoing Senate committee’s probe of allegedly unremitted oil proceeds.
At the hearing, the CBN Governor named Seven Energy as one of the companies to which funds were diverted
when the session opened, the Chairman read a welcome address stating that only those who submitted written memorandum will be given the opportunity to speak.
He indicated that memoranda were received from CBN, NEITI and FIRS
Afterwards, he yielded the floor to the Director General of Budget to give a report on the reconciliation effort.
The DG Budget stated that from the reconciliation, $10.8bn is the amount that is outstanding and that NNPC has made significant progress in providing documentation to account for the money. He also stated that more time is needed to complete the reconciliation. The DG therefore asked for additional 1 week.
The Committee called for PPPRA but its Executive Secretary was not present. A representative of the Executive Secretary of PPPRA who did not speak very confidently explained that further time was needed in order to reconcile the figures.
Commenting, Senator Bukola Saraki stated that the response from the DG of Budget and PPPRA representative did not inspire confidence. He asked why the FMF waited for CBN Governor to raise the alarm before embarking on the reconciliation. DG of Budget responded that reconciliation is carried out on monthly basis and it is a continuous process.
CBN Governor submitted as follows:
That oil revenue which should accrue to the Federation Account from NPDC’s is being diverted to private companies; Atlantic Energy and Seven Energy.
That as a result of this there is a non- remittance of $6bn of gross crude revenue that ought to be remitted to the Federation account by NPDC as part of the divested assets.
That NNPC stated that a major component of the $10.8bn was spent on kerosene and PMS subsidy. The Governor indicated that he has evidence of a presidential directive stopping subsidy in respect of kerosene and therefore declared subsidy illegal and should be refunded to the Federation Account.
Finally the CBN Governor stated that from his calculation, of the $67bn crude oil lifted; only $47Bn has been remitted leaving a balance of $20bn.
NEITI was then asked to present its audit of the oil industry/NNPC. The NEITI representative stated unequivocally that the audit has just commenced and would not be ready until after 9 months.
The Chairman then demanded that all who were unable to attend including CME and HMPR for one reason or the other should attend the next hearing and all submissions should have been made before then.
He adjourned the sitting to Thursday 13th February, 2014 and requested that all submissions must reach the Senate Committee by February 7, 2014......culled

`It was a dark secret. The kind that destroys lives, devastates families and decimates faith. Nobody shared it in any way with Valerie Spruill while her "husband" was alive. Four years after his death, she heard bits of the story. It was something about an absentee father, something about her husband. None of it made sense. That’s not until her uncle finally told her what no one else had: She had unknowingly married the father she never knew.
“I don’t know if he ever knew or not. That conversation didn’t come up,” she said. “I think if he did know, there is no way he could have told me.” “It is devastating. It can destroy you!” Spruill told CNN late Thursday by telephone. “It almost did.” 60-year-old Spruill of Doylestown, Ohio, went public with her story this month, first published in the Akron Beacon Journal, with the hopes that it would help others facing what seem like insurmountable problems. It’s a story that has gone viral, attracting attention as faraway as Australia and India where the questions are always the same, she says: How could that happen? It’s a question that Spruill said she has been grappling with since she first learned the truth in 2004, six years after her "husband" Percy Spruill died. She confirmed her "husband" was indeed her father through a DNA test, hair taken from one of his brushes.
The aftermath of the secret was devastating emotionally — and physically, Spruill suffered two strokes and was diagnosed with diabetes. All of it, she believes was brought on by learning the family secret. “Pain and stress will kill, and I had to release my stress,” Spruill said. “I’m just telling the story to release my pain.” She has a deep, abiding faith in God, who she believes has guided her through the experience — and others that have shaped her life.“You have to have faith,” she said. “If God brought me this far, He’s not going to leave me now.” Spruill met and married her husband/father in Akron and settled in Doylestown, a working class suburb of not more than 2,300 people. It was her second marriage. Spruill was a nice man, a good provider.
He was kind to her three children from her previous marriage. “We had a good life,” she said. She initially struggled with anger, with hating Spruill for what happened. But therapy taught her what happened wasn’t her fault. Her faith taught her to forgive. Initial response to her story has been mixed: “More positive than negative,” she says. In recent days, she has been in contact with a couple who found out after they were married that they were brother and sister. They told her, she said, that her story is helping them deal with their own experience. “They are trying to be friends now,” Spruill said. Others, though, have been less kind.
“They’ve said things like ‘Some secrets should stay secrets,’” she said. “I can’t do anything about what they think. I just know what I think. God is always mighty, and he teaches you to tell the truth no matter what.” Spruill knows not everybody tells the truth. It’s a lesson she learned as a child the hard way. By all accounts, Spruill’s mother got pregnant as a teenager while dating her then 15-year-old father. She was 3-months-old when she was sent to live with her grandmother and grandfather, who she initially believed as she grew up was her father. Spruill said at about age 8 or 9, she discovered that the woman who often visited the house was not a family friend but her mother. But nobody, she said, talked about her father. There’s nobody left to give her the answers about her husband-father. Her mother, Christine, died in 1984. Her grandparents have long since passed. So, too, have a number of Percy Spruill’s relatives.
Spruill knows her mother worked as a prostitute and even got caught up in 1980 high-profile corruption scandal surrounding James Barbuto, a probate judge who was convicted of intimidating investigators and gross sexual imposition for attacking a courthouse clerk in his chambers. “My mother showed me lots of love. All said and done, I have no regrets in my life at all,” she said. She believes she has siblings or half-siblings from Spruill’s previous relationships, including the one with her mother. She said she wants to find them and let them know they are not alone. Spruill, herself, has three children and eight grandchildren. She struggled with telling her children that the man they believed was their step-father was their grandfather.
A therapist “advised me to tell my kids,” she said. “I told them about two years ago. They are remarkable. They are handling it better than I am.” In recent days, shortly before the news broke, she also told her grandchildren. “They have been so supportive.
They are telling me they love me, telling me they will do whatever I need,” she said. In her spare time, since retiring from accounting department where she worked for 34 years at Goodyear, she has been writing down her story with the hopes of publishing it. “I thank God that he gave me a chance to live through all of these,” she said. “It is nothing short of a miracle that I’m still here. I want people to know that they can survive something like this.”

POLICEMAN ON VIDEO ALLEGEDLY DEMANDING DOLLAR BRIBE ARRESTED, NOW IN POLICE CUSTODY

A hitherto unidentified policeman caught in a hidden camera allegedly demanding “dollar bribe” from a citizen has been identified and arrested. He is F/No. 374171 Cpl Aniyem Chiyem attached to Isheri Division, Lagos State Police Command. 

His arrest was sequel to a matching order issued by the Inspector-General of Police, IGP MD Abubakar, CFR, NPM, mni, psc to the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State, CP Umar Abubakar Manko to ensure prompt arrest and investigation of the matter.

Following his arrest, the suspect who is now in police custody, is undergoing Orderly Room trials and if found guilty will face appropriate disciplinary actions.

Meanwhile, the IGP has commended the unknown whistleblower in this case for his painstaking efforts in exposing what would have been a hidden crime.  He equally enjoins other members of the public to emulate this noble and patriotic action which will certainly go a long way in checkmating crime in our society.
