A dozen men are ambushed, stripped naked and forced to undergo circumcisions in Kenya after their wives complained that they were not as good in bed as circumcised men
A dozen men were seized and stripped naked before they were forced to undergo circumcisions in western Kenya as part of a 'ceremony', it has been reported.
The 12 men, from the Luo, Turkana, Iteso and Luhyia communities, were reportedly subjected to the procedure after their wives revealed they had not had it done previously.
A number of women in the town of Moi's Bridge, in western Kenya, where the incident took place, said they were pleased the men went through the procedure because it made them cleaner and perform better in bed.
According to Kenyan radio station West FM, the men who underwent the procedure had either previously avoided having it done or had come from a Luhyia sub-tribe which did not carry it out.
A crowd reportedly sung circumcision songs as they gathered the men up before taking them to a nearby medical centre where the operations were carried out.
One of the wives, Anne Njeri, who witnessed the incident on Friday, told the radio station: 'We are happy with the move to have such men cut because uncircumcised men are dirty and do not perform well in bed and thus we are sure their wives will now enjoy their marriages.'
Each of the men have been provided with money by others in the town for treatment, according to the report.
Nigerian Doctor who Treated Liberian Ebola Victim has Contracted the Virus
One of the doctors who treated Patrick Sawyer, the Liberian Ebola Virus victim who died in Nigeria, has tested positive for the virus, according to Sahara Reporters.
Minister of Health, Onyebuchi Chukwu, reportedly revealed that two other people who are currently in quarantine, are displaying Ebola-like symptoms. However, it is yet to be confirmed whether they actually have the virus.

Ebola: Lagos State Gov. Urges T.B. Joshua Not to Accept Victims
Lagos State Government and a few Federal delegates visited the Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN) Prophet Temitope Joshua.
The pastor is known for accepting individuals who have health conditions, to pray for them.
The aim of the visit was for the government to step up its surveillance as well as to tell members of the church how deadly the virus is and to take necessary measures for it not to enter the country.
A good number of the members are also from countries already affected by the disease.
Dr. Jide Idris, the Lagos State Commissioner for Health led the group. He said;
“We have our strategies that we intend to share with you. Again, we need to know the resources you have here because whether it is one or two cases, if they are allowed to get out, it is a major problem. We are here to work together on how to contain this disease.”
On their visit, T.B. Joshua said he will work with the government and visit the affected countries rather than invite the affected individuals.
“I am ready to work with you. I love my country and I will be ready to work with you. Even if it is a rumour, there is need to secure our environment to ensure that it is safe.” he said.

“President Jonathan Is Not Dead” – Presidency
The Presidency on Friday dismissed rumours being circulated online that President Jonathan is dead.
One of the reports claimed that Jonathan might have lost his life in a plane crash, the other alleged that the President collapsed and died in his office.
However, Presidential Spokesman Reuben Abati has refuted such claims: “President Jonathan is hale and hearty. Information being spread about his state of health and condition is mischievous. Beware of devilish elements!”

Vet Struck Off For Having Sex With Horse And Dog...
A vet who was filmed having sex with a horse and a dog has been banned from practising in the UK.
Oliver Fraser Lown of Kesgrave, Suffolk, was found guilty of five charges by the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS) disciplinary committee at a hearing at their London headquarters.
Videos were found in his possession showing him engaging in sexual activity with animals, as were 'extreme' pornographic images of animals and people, the RCVS heard.
Lown, believed to be in his 20s, had already been taken to court in 2012 after being found with 'extreme' pornography involving people and animals.
The RCVS heard that in addition to the porn offences, for which he was given a conditional discharge, he also engaged in sexual activity himself with a horse and a dog and then boasted about it online.
According to the findings, he pleaded guilty at Northallerton and Richmond Magistrates Court in North Yorkshire to seven criminal charges in 2011 relating to the possession of extreme images involving people and animals.
The RCVS committee heard the Crown Prosecution Service decided not to prosecute him in respect of a bestiality charge that it was considering, but the RCVS found the charge to be proven.
Lown had graduated from the Szent Istvan University in Budapest, Hungary and he had been registered with the RCVS in 2013, the committee heard. The RCVS said he never practised in Britain.
Lown did not attend the RCVS hearing in London, but he was represented by a solicitor.
Three of the charges related to the discovery of images or videos on a laptop and a mobile phone at his home near Ipswich.
Another charge related to footage of him engaging in sexual activity with a horse and a dog, while a fifth charge related to him sending messages that referred to sexual activity with animals.
The video shows Lown 'engaging in sexual activity with a horse in a stable setting and a dog in a house setting', and he was partly identified by a distinctive green star tattoo on his leg.
Delivering the findings, Professor Noreen Burrows, Chair of the Disciplinary Committee, said: 'The committee has no doubt the conduct was of the utmost seriousness, the material found in his possession and his own conduct involved the abuse of animals and a total lack of respect for their welfare.'...culled

Ghana bans flights from Nigeria, Sierra Leone, Liberia over Ebola concerns
Ghana has officially banned flights from 4 West African countries; Guinea, Sierra Leone, Liberia, and Nigeria, citing concerns about the rapid spread of the Ebola virus, which has claimed several lives.
Charles Asare, Managing Director of the Ghana Airport Company, said the measure was part of a set of emergency management plans officials are rolling out to combat the spread of the virus. Continue..
The government there has also implemented strict restrictions on the movement and management of Liberian refugees in camps in the country.
Health Minister, Kwaku Agyeman-Mensah, urged Ghanaians to bear with the government as they work to contain the virus. "Preparedness is not an event but a process," he said.

The new Group Managing Director of the NNPC, Dr. Dawha hails from Borno state. He has served previously as the Group Executive Director, Exploration and Production, NNPC and Managing Director of Integrated Data Services Ltd (IDSL), a subsidiary of the NNPC.
Mr Anthony Muoneke, the new Managing Director of the NPDC, hails from Anambra state. Called to the Nigerian Bar in 1985, he has over 29 years’ experience at both local and international levels in the oil and gas as well as the energy and power sectors, including serving as Executive Director, Finance & Admin, Niger Delta Power Holding Company Ltd. (NDPHC).

The Lagos State Police Command has declared a 33-year-old man wanted for allegedly murdering a businesswoman, Lizzy Njideka.
The suspect, identified as Mr. Kelechi(Kenechi) Williams was said to have strangled Njideka Lizzy Nzewi, 39, a mother of four, to death in her private home, at Green Estate, Amuwo Odofin, Festac, Lagos State and made away with her 50,000 dollars, phones, over N8 million meant for running of the business and her Range Rover SUV Jeep. Williams, whom the police said had since discovered have several other names, is believed to have fled to Ghana with the loot after strangling his lover to death.
The woman, whom many described as a multi-millionaire, was found on the floor of her apartment. The twine which was used to strangle her was left hanging on her neck. It was also discovered that in the course of struggling with her assailant, to remove the rope strangulating her, she urinated and defecated on her body. There were white forms on her mouth.
The police believed that her killer attacked her from behind. It was gathered that homicide detectives from the Area E, Festac Police Command, under the Area Commander, an Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), Mr. Dan Okoro, are already closing in on the suspect.
Ebola Scare in Anambra, Government Seals Hospital
A hospital has been sealed off and its workers and patients quarantined due to an Ebola disease scare in Anambra State today.
According to the Anambra Commissioner of Health, Josephat Akabuike, the measure followed information received by the government that a man whose body was brought back from Liberia at the weekend, might have died of the killer disease. He said that information available to the government indicated that the body was brought back from Liberia through Lagos and deposited in the mortuary at Nkwelle-Ezenaka in Oyi Local Government of the state.
“Part of the briefing is to tell you what we are doing to make sure we don’t allow the deadly virus to come into the state. What actually called for this is that we have a report that a corpse was brought through Lagos and the deceased was said to have been taken from Liberia where of course you know there are cases of the disease.
The corpse was said to have been brought to Nigeria and deposited somewhere in Nkwelle-Ezunaka and the ministry was alerted and that is why we are taking all these measures.”
The commissioner said that Governor Willie Obiano had already directed the Police Command in the state to cordon off the place until the necessary tests were carried out. He further said that Federal Government had also sent medical experts from the Federal Ministry of Health, Abuja, to Anambra to carry out the test at the hospital premises.
