Jonathan Has No Chance Of Winning • Buhari Has Taken Over – APGA

Jonathan-Buhari
The All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) is having second thoughts about supporting the candidature of President Goodluck Jonathan for a second term, saying it is very likely that the candidate of the All progressives Congress, Maj.-Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), will emerge winner of the February 14, 2015 presidential election.
The Chairman of the Lagos State chapter of APGA, Mr. Campbell Umeh-Nzekwe, who is also a special adviser to the national chairman of the party, made this known during an interview on Sunday.
The Lagos APGA chairman said Jonathan’s problem was compounded by the fact that the motion to adopt him as the consensus candidate of the Igbo for the 2015 presidential election failed at the Ime-Obi (inner caucus) meeting of the Ohanaeze Ndigbo, in Enugu at the weekend.
Umeh-Nzekwe added that the New Year message of renowned Enugu-based Catholic priest, Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka – that the president had failed and should step down seemed to have sent shockwaves across the entire South-East region.
He said the party was sure that Jonathan would not win votes in the North.
He said, “The game has changed. As it is, Jonathan has no chance of winning. Buhari seems to have taken over. The PDP has collapsed in the North if you care to know. All those who are running to Aso Rock and making promises to the President are just deceiving him.”
In response to a question of whether APGA would now be supporting Buhari next month, Umeh-Nzekwe said he could not say for sure.
He said, “Jonathan is a sitting President with incumbency factor in his favour but Buhari has the masses and a cult following in the North. In 2011, Buhari won 12 million votes in the North with his rag-tag party, the Congress for Progressive Change, without a single governor or senator to campaign for him.
“Today, his party, the APC, has 14 governors, 43 senators and 176 Reps as well as 625 House of Assembly members. Also, the APC has dominant control of the North-West with a total number of 18.4 million voters and North-East with 10.2 million while South-West has 13.4 million voters
“The PDP has dominant control of the North-Central and Abuja with 10.4 million voters while the South-South has 8.5 million and South-East has 7.2 million votes.
“However, no zone has achieved 50 per cent of votes cast but northern voters are more committed and trustworthy than those in the South.
“Also, look at Jonathan’s campaign team. He has Col. Ahmadu Ali (retd.) as his Director General and Peter Obi as the deputy while Buhari has Governor Rotimi Amaechi and Senator Olorunnimbe Mamora as director general and deputy respectively. It is time for Ndi Igbo to review their strategy”.

''Religion must never be used by anyone to oppress or gain unfair advantage''- Buhari

Gen.Buhari said religion must never be used to divide the nation or be used by anyone to oppress or gain unfair advantage.

"I am honoured to participate in this year's edition of the Lagos Thanksgiving Service. I am glad to know that this year's service has brought together Nigerians of all faiths just to thank and praise the Almighty God for his mercies. This is how it should be. Religion must never be used to divide or oppress others or gain unfair advantage. All my life, I have always held the belief that all Nigerians must be fee to worship God according to their beliefs. The duty of government is not religion, the duty of government is to ensure peace, security of all Nigerians, regardless of tribe, race or religion. And this is a commitment all of us must make in this service" He said

Emir of Kano Lamido Sanusi Lamido To Take 17-Years Adamawa Princess As Fourth Wife

Emir of Kano, Malam Sanusi Lamido Sanusi  (Muhammadu Sanusi II), is set to take his fourth wife.
The lucky young lady is  a 17-year-old beautiful daughter of the Lamido of Adamawa, Alhaji Muhammadu Barkindo Aliyu Musdafa.
According to Thisday reports
Sanusi, an accomplished banker, who became the 14th Emir of Kano last June, is  a respected Islamic Scholar, and his decision to take a new wife is in line with Islamic injunction which prescribes a maximum of four wives for those who can treat all of them equally. Already, Sanusi has three beautiful wives – Sadiya, Maryam and Rakiya.

Like in ancient times when bonds between empires were deepened by marriages among royals and nobles across boundaries, the betrothal of the Adamawa princess to Emir Sanusi  II may also be a move to deepen royal bond between Adamawa and Kano. Historically, both emirates have similar origins in the 19 century Usman dan Fodio’s jihad.

The Director of Public Relations of the Nigerian Army, Brigadier Olaleye Lajide, has dismissed reports in the Nigerian media claiming that the army could not find academic records of General Muhammadu Buhari (ret.), the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Brigadier Lajide described the reports as false. The military spokesman made the disclosure while responding to a text message from SaharaReporters seeking clarification about the status of Mr. Buhari’s records. Brigadier Lajide affirmed that the Nigerian Army is in possession of all records of serving, retired and deceased officers since its inception. He added, however, that all military officers are supposed to keep original copies of their certificates. According to him, in the event where an officer loses his or her original copy of records, the concerned officer must officially apply for copies from the army.
He stated that the army responds to such requests in an expeditious manner. Brigadier Lajide told SR that he was a former Director of Records at the Nigerian Army headquarters and had seen records of older and retired generals. He added that he was in no doubt that General Buhari’s records were intact. Brigadier Olaleye insisted that the claim in a major Nigerian newspaper, that the army could not locate Mr. Buhari’s record was untrue.

Stop Deceiving Yourself, Nigerians Won’t Miss You – Tsav Tells Jonathan

Abubakar-Tsav
A former Commissioner of Police in Lagos State, Alhaji Abubakar Tsav, on Thursday said that Nigerians will never miss President Goodluck Jonathan when he leaves office.
The retired police chief, who spoke in Makurdi, Benue State, was reacting to the president’s remark that Nigerians would praise him soon after he leaves office.
“President Jonathan will be deceiving himself if he thinks Nigerians would miss him when he leaves. This is mere hallucination and wishful thinking”, he said.
He insisted that contrary to the president’s expectation, Nigerians are eager for him to give them a break as they are desperate for change in a positive direction.
Tsav also said that the only people, who may perhaps sing Jonathan’s praise when he is no longer in office, are those emergency millionaires and billionaires he created through institutionalized corruption.
He added that even some of the people the president appointed as ministers into his cabinet, such as former Minister of Information, Labaran Maku and his counterpart, Minister of State for Industry, Trade and Investment, Samuel Ortom will not praise him for alleged injustice done to them in the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, governorship primaries.

All through last year, we watched our celebrities and critiqued their behaviour. Maybe we shouldn’t have. Maybe we should let them make their own mistakes. Or maybe we should assess celebrity behaviour in 2014 and determine which celebrities could use some suggestions for their New Year’s Resolutions to make 2015 a great year. And that’s just what we’ve done. So Don Jazzy, Cossy, Omosexy and others, listen up.

Appeal Court frees Erastus Akingbola of N47.5billion theft charge

Erastus Akingbola
The Court of Appeal sitting in Lagos, western Nigeria, has quashed the 22-count charge brought against the former Managing Director of Intercontinental Bank Plc, Dr. Erastus Akingbola by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
The EFCC had alleged that Akingbola stole N47.5 billion belonging to the bank.
Ruling on Akingbola’s application on jurisdiction, the court presided over by Justice Amina Augie held that the High Court of Lagos State presided over by Justice Lateef Lawal-Akapo lacked jurisdiction to entertain the suit filed against him by the commission.
Justice Augie said it amounted to miscarriage of justice for the lower court to have dismissed Akingbola’s application challenging its jurisdiction on the matter.
“The appeal is meritorious and allowed,” she declared.

Rev. Fr Mbaka insists that GEJ must go

Nigeria’s controversial Catholic priest, Father Camilius Ejike Mbaka has asked President Goodluck Jonathan to quit office honourably, saying that the message is from the Oracle of the Holy Spirit.
In a new year message to his flock, at the Adoration Ground in Enugu, eastern Nigeria, Mbaka said the Holy Spirit told him that Nigeria is at the brink of change, following the bad leadership provided in the last six years by President Jonathan.
According to Mbaka, Goodluck leadership of Nigeria has turned into a national bad luck. The theme of his message was: From Good Luck to bad Luck.
“Goodluck met our oil, it turned to bad luck. He met our Naira, it became bad luck. We need change. Christmas that ought to be Goodluck Christmas became bad luck Christmas, he said, to the applause of thousands of people who attended the open air event.
Mbaka said he is worried about the future of Nigerian youths, the collapse of roads and the insecurity in the country.
To him, the re-election of Jonathan will spell disaster for the country and repeatedly asked him to quit.
“Nigeria is like an egg in the hands of Nigeria. We cannot allow him to break it. ..The way Nigeria is going, let Goodluck just go”.
Mbaka also criticised clerics who he said have been compromised by President Jonathan. They should speak up, he said and ”drop the money they have collected”.
“My interest is in the survival of our country”, he said and swore that he has not entered into any covenant with any politician to say what he said.
He criticised President Jonathan’s record in the fight against insurgents, saying at no time in the history of Nigeria, since the civil war, had we shed so much blood like now.
Seeking divine intervention, Mbaka said: “the same God that saved us from Ebola will save us from bad luck season”.
