Wanted Journalist In Connection With Boko Haram Arrested At Abuja Airport

Nigerian journalist, Ahmed Salkida, who was declared wanted along with two others-Ahmed Bolori and Aisha Wakil-by the Nigerian Army over Boko Haram’s latest video, has been arrested by the security operatives.
Salkida who arrived the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport aboard Emirates flight EK 785 was arrested in Abuja on Monday from the door of the aircraft.
However, following a conversation between him and a passenger on-board the flight, Salkida had said that he knew he would be arrested because he had been declared wanted by the State Security Service (SSS).

Cross River to Float Airline, ‘Cally Air’ by November

Governor Ben Ayade of Cross River says the state government is to float an airline, to be called ‘Cally Air’ as part of its tourism investment drive.
Ayade said this on Monday in Calabar while playing host to a consortium of Indian investors.
According to him, the airline will be managed by Dana Group under a Public Private Partnership (PPP) arrangement.
The governor said the airline will debut in November and would fly Calabar, Obudu, Lagos and Abuja routes.
“We have our own state’s aircraft currently in Aero Contractors‘ fleet in Lagos. The management of Dana Airline has agreed to do a detailed technical study of the aircraft before it commences commercial flight operations,” he said.
Ayade said the state was in a haste to get the airline started while Dana Airline would serve as its technical partner.
Speaking, Jackies Hartmani, the Managing Director of Dana Group, applauded the joint partnership between his group and the state government.
“My company is very impressed with what Gov. Ayade is doing to transform the state in terms of investment and we are committed to ensuring the success of the partnership,” Hartmani said.

Alamieyeseigha’s N2.8b hotel rots away in Abuja[Photos]

 seven years after the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) handed over the N2.8billion Chelsea Hotel to the government of Bayelsa State, the hitherto money-spinning edifice is rotting away in Abuja.
The hotel was seized from the state’s first civilian governor, the late Diepreye Alamieyeseigha.
A Federal High Court, Lagos in 2007 ordered the forfeiture of the hotel by Alamieyeseigha after the ex-governor was sentenced for corruption.
Besides the hotel, the EFCC sold other Alamieyeseigha assets in Nigeria and realised N3, 128, 230, 294.83billion; $441,000; E7, 000 and £2,000.

The Operatives of Rapid Response Squad (RRS) of Lagos State Police Command, have apprehended an 18 -year-old boy, Segun Adeyefa, for allegedly selling bar of soap as mobile phones to unsuspecting members of public in traffic.
The suspect was arrested by the RRS men on routine patrol of Ikorodu Motor Park yesterday at about 19:50 hrs, while trying to defraud a young man at the motor park.
Upon his arrival at RRS’s Headquarters, the suspect confessed that before he was caught on Tuesday, he had duped one person of N3,500 who wanted to buy the phone.
