Nollywood actress, Uche Jumbo recently turned a motivational speaker when she spoke about love. The wife of Kenney Rodriguez, Uche, may not be a professional lecturer or a renowned motivational speaker but she was able to give her own definition of what true love is.
“Love I would say is never enough in every relationship. There is the need for understanding, communication and above all, perseverance. That is what I call love. To be able to persevere takes a lot; it includes agreeing and taking a lot of what you want to take. That is what I call love. All that people see as love, I don’t see. If I love you, will you be able to stay with me if I don’t have money anymore? If I fall in the hands of strange people that want to ruin my life, would you be there for me? Will you be able to put up with all the ugly challenges in my life? That is what I call love,” the producer and actress, Uche, said.

“I am in my late 40s and still single. I moved into this neighbourhood just recently. An environ which is cozy and fun to be in. I am actually living in a flat closed to that of a newly wedded couple. For some time now, I am at the verge of denouncing my spiritual faith due to what has been going on around me.
There’s something about this couple; they are so noisy when making love – so loud you could think we are in the same room. When they start with their gbam gbam gbam, you need a jury to intervene. Don’t ask me what I mean.
That is not all, within the few days I have packed in; it has been full of temptations from left to right. Aside from their merry-go-round habit each night, I have noticed to my shock that the pretty new bride wears very skimpy and offensive stuff outside their flat and doesn’t even carry herself as a married woman.
Now my question is: should I call the man as a ‘brother’ and talk to him on two serious issues affecting me: first, about their never-ending noise love making every night; and second, about his wife’s manner of dressing?
Or should I simply shut up and suffer the consequences of being a bachelor at my age?”

"Uloma knew Solomon was married to me" Lilian Akiyesi

Nollywood actor, Solomon Akiyesi’s wedding was disrupted by his first wife. Today she spoke to Lilian and heard her side of the story. Two significant things she revealed to Miss Ikeji were:
1. Uloma definitely knew Solomon was married to her. She said her first encounter with Uloma was back in 2010 when she called Solomon very late at night and she, Lilian, picked up the phone. She told Uloma that she’s Solomon’s wife and Uloma started crying. She said she even had to start consoling Uloma that night. After that phone conversation she didn’t hear from Uloma again but later found out she continued her affair with her husband. She said she called Uloma and warned her over the phone…

2. She and Solomon were not having any marital problems. She said Solomon told her he was going to Lagos to work a few days before the Saturday wedding. She said she was the one who helped him pack his bags and he even kissed her goodbye at the door. She said she communicated with him a day before the wedding, Friday April 12th and he was all lovey dovey with her.

Nine best pupils cannot write their names – Akwa Ibom State Commissioner for Education

In a shocking revelation in Akwa Ibom state, the State Commissioner for Education, Mrs. Eunice Thomas, has said that nine pupils from the state public primary schools who had distinctions in First School Leaving Certificate examinations, were unable to write their names following a later test conducted on them.
Mrs Thomas said the revelation was made when the state Governor, Mr. Godswill Akpabio, had directed all heads of schools to select the best pupils from FSLC examination, one in each of the 31 local government areas of the state to a designated school, where they were re-examined.
The Commissioner who was represented by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education, Mr. Chrisantus Asuka, said this during a capacity building workshop for primary school teachers in Uyo Senatorial District on Saturday.
Speaking through the Permanent Secretary, Mrs Thomas said beside the nine, many others could not score 5 per cent in the test.
“We conducted a pre-test and say let’s introduce subjective questions, and not objective questions that one person will stand in the exam hall and just call out A or B to the candidates and they all will shape or thick the correct answer.
“At the end you realise that the child that scores 100 per cent cannot, if tested properly score 5 per cent.
“How did we discover this? In 2011, Akpabio directed all heads of schools to take the best pupils from FSLC examinations, one person per local government areas of the state.
“We sent them to school – honestly, out of this number sent, nine were unable to write their names, while many others beside the nine could not score up to 5 per cent in the test,” she said
The Commissioner however blamed teachers for lack of commitment which resulted in pushing the pupils into cheating to pass their examinations.
She also noted that most of the teachers in the state public schools were not qualified.
She said, “I went to a school in Ukanafun LGA. I saw a teacher, who looks like a village woman. I asked her who her commissioner was. She mentioned a name that was not from this side, at all.
“If you set the same questions you set for the pupils for the teachers, many of them cannot answer.

“The state government conducted an Aptitude Test using the same syllabus for the students to test the teachers; honestly 60 per cent of the teachers were unable to pass the examinations.”

Van plunges into Majidun river

Disaster struck yesterday at Majidun in Lagos State as a Hilux bus with four passengers veered off the bridge and plunged into the river. The accident, according to eyewitnesses, happened around 5.20am. The bodies of the occupants of the vehicle were yet to be found as the time Sunday Sun left the scene.
Officials of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) said the bodies could only be found within 24 hours if the victims did not eat before the incident and after 36 hours if they ate. The vehicle with registration number KSF 918 AU that belongs to Ikoyi Golf Club, was said to have been driven by the manager of the club identified as Kolawole Ahmed.
NEMA Information Officer, Ibrahim Farinloye, said the agency was informed a bit late but was able to race to the scene around 8am and immediately commenced rescue operation. He explained that after rigorous rescue mission, no body was found but the vehicle was recovered. He added that the rescue operation was massive as it involved Lagos Waterway Agency, Navy and local divers. “We were not informed in time. So we moved in around 8 am.
We immediately went into action. We mobilized the Lagos Waterway Agency, the Navy and the local divers for the operation but no body was recovered. We will continue tomorrow but the local divers are still searching ”, he said. Ahmed explained that getting the vehicle out of the river was a tough task as the agency had to go for a crane. “We got the crane free of charge and when the vehicle was brought out, nobody was inside”, he stated. He said the agency had asked people to inform their families and continue counseling them.
The head of the local divers that spoke on condition of anonymity, stated that they have tried everything within their power to recover the bodies. We tried our best but we are still on it”, he said, adding that they could be discovered around 6 am today. Some other witnesses that spoke to Sunday Sun, wondered how the vehicle veered off the road into the river. Others stated that the river has a kind of mystery.
“This river is not an ordinary river. It kills people anyhow. Some time ago, some people came to the river to bathe and they disappeared without a trace”, a resident said. The Lagos State Emergency Agency (LASEMA) also stated that the rescue operation was at the scene. The General Manager, Dr. O.D Oke-Osanyintolu, confirmed that no body had been recovered as at press time.

This sounds like something out of a movie, but it's real life. . Nollywood actor, Solomon Akiyesi married Lilian Akiyesi seven years ago, after the two dated for six years. . So they've been together for thirteen years. After trying for years to conceive, Lilian finally got pregnant last year...but unknown to her, her husband was having an affair with a Lagos based lady. (Lilian and Solomon are based in Port Harcourt).
Solomon's Lagos based girlfriend got pregnant and the two started planning a wedding that was supposed to take place today April 13th. Fortunately for Lilian, she got wind of the wedding plans just days ago. And according to what her friend told me, Solomon sent money to Lilian just yesterday Friday April 12th and promised to return home next week. He told Lilian that he was in Lagos to shoot a movie.
When Lilian confirmed the wedding was really going to happen today, she contacted the police, took some family members and friends and stormed the wedding venue - Overcomers World Outreach located at Overcomers Close, off Ramlat Timson str, in Aguda, Surulere.
Lilian, who is eight months pregnant, stormed the church and managed to stop the wedding before the pastor could pronounce her husband and his mistress 'husband and wife'. The police were later called to return sanity to the place..

I’m not ready to make another mistake. But I will definitely remarry. I believe in the principles of marriage. Whether you like it or not, marriage is a better option.”
On her alleged romance with Lagos big boy, Lanre Nzeribe and the pregnancy rumour which went viral on the blogsphere recently, Monalisa said, “Yes, there is a man in my life. It’s neither here nor there. I’m a lover and I love to love.
But as you can see, I’m not pregnant. Naturally, I’m not pregnant for anybody.” She added.
Asked if her daughter, Tamar is missing her father, the Glo Ambassador said, “She doesn’t know her father . She was barely a year when our marriage crashed. I think she will ask some day.”

NDLEA Found 40.255kg Of Drugs Hidden In Melon

Officials of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA have foiled a plot to smuggle 40.255kg of methamphetamine to South Africa aboard a South African Airline.
It was gathered that the consignment was detected at the cargo section of the Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Lagos.
A total of 41 parcels of the methamphetamine were found hidden inside grinded melon packed with cosmetics and provisions.

Former Deputy Governor Of Anambra State Killed By Kidnappers

 Dr. Chudi Nwike, the former Deputy Governor of Anambra State who was kidnapped on March 19, has been killed by his kidnappers who had demanded a N30 million ransom and actually collected a negotiated amount.
The Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) said that the body was identified at the Agbor Police Station in Delta State by the Anambra State Chairman of the party), Chief Amaechi Obidike, State Secretary Barr Emeka Ibe, and the victim’s brother, Dr.Bufo Nwike.
The statement noted that the family had negotiated and paid a ransom prior to the discovery of the body, Bufo Nwike handling the negotiations and arranging to pay to the kidnappers N5million at an undisclosed location in Delta State.
That ransom was in paid on April 5, but the kidnappers, after collecting the money from the courier, cut off all further communications. The body was discovered thereafter.
“We are tremendously ashamed of the circumstances of his death and wish we could now erase from history that a former Deputy Governor of a State in Nigeria died in this manner,” ACN said in the statement.
The party called on the security agencies, in view of the fact that they did not succeed in tracking down the abductors of the former Deputy Governor while he lived, to “rise and smash all obstacles on the way to unearthing the abductors and killers of ACN’s rare gem, an embodiment of peace and knowledge.
