Reggae star, Orits Wiliki recently celebrated his 30 years-on-stage as a musician in Lagos. And in a new interview has unveiled the secret of his 20-year marriage to popular actress and singer, Becky. Orits told PUNCH:

“I married my kid sister – my mother’s last born. We are as close siblings can be. That is why we have stayed together for this long.”

Kasapreko Suspends N9.3bn ‘Alomo Bitters’ Factory In Nigeria Over Counterfeiting Of Drink

Ghana’s Kasapreko Company Limited has suspended a planned $50 million (N9.25 billion) investment in Nigeria, one of the largest markets for its popular Alomo Bitters due to the adulteration of the product.
“We wanted to make a strong foot print in Nigeria and we have not cancelled the ambition but once we are able to get rid of those destroying the market and harming the lives of the people through faking of our product then we can decide to put the factory in place,” the company’s Group Managing Director, Kwabena Adjei told Nigerian media platform, Vanguard in Accra, Ghana.
Adjei, while conducting the media company round its factory in Accra, said that the planned to establish its manufacturing plant in Nigeria, but threats from counterfeiting has reduced the brand equity of Alomo Bitters.
He explained that not only the company was suffering from faking of its products, the government was also losing revenue. “If we don’t fight the fake, we are hurting the government because fakers don’t pay tax. We are harming the consumers because fakers don’t use good product. Some of these fake products have been tested in our laboratory and I tell you that the result is shocking and unhealthy to consumers,” he said.
Nigeria loses an estimated N15 billion annually to fake products in terms of tax revenue to the government, income to local manufacturers and employment generation to Nigerians, according to the director, Legal Services, Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON), Suleiman Kawo. SON also says 40 percent of goods in the country are counterfeit.
Adjei recognized Nigeria as a very important market for the company in Africa, it is therefore collaborating with regulatory agencies and distributors to tackle the fake market.

Mrs. Akinola taught him in 1976 and back then, they were each other favorites (favorite teacher, favorite pupil).
They reunited for the first time in 38 years following the Governor’s invitation.

Police Parades 13 Years Old Female Suicide Bomber in Kano

The Department of State Service and the Nigerian Police Wednesday afternoon paraded a 13 years old female suicide bomber arrested in the wake of attack on Kano textile market. She was picked up in an unnamed hospital in Kano. The arrested female suicide bomber who identified herself as Zaharau claimed to be an indigene of Bauchi told reporters in Kano that she was recruited into the heinous act by his father. Zaharau was picked up in unnamed hospital in Kano shortly after the twin blast that rocked the popular textile market in the city December 10th where she had gone to sought medical attention over an injury she sustained from the blast.

Hoodlums attack church,flog pastor & members,cart away offering

Hoodlums on Friday invaded the Christ Apostolic Church, Pillar of Fire, located at LA primary school area of Akure, the Ondo state capital, during service, destroying properties and carting away the day’s offering.
According to Punch,It was gathered that the attackers, armed with whips and other dangerous weapons, subjected the worshippers and presiding pastor, Pastor Arije, to severe flogging.
The reasons for the attack was not immediately known. Sources feared that a rival Pastor of one of the churches within the area may have sponsored the attack.
Eyewitnesses reported that the hoodlums stormed the premises of the church on motor bikes and destroyed plastic chairs, wall Clock, glass windows and electrical appliances found in the church.
The assailants also inflicted varying degrees of injuries on members as they tried to escape the attack.
It was gathered that although policemen came to the rescue, they were also attacked, and those arrested were freed as a result.
Police Public Relations Officer, Wole Ogodo, who confirmed the incident, said one of the policemen was stabbed by a broken bottle by the assailants after they were chased to Odopetu in Oke Aro.

Over 70% Candidates Fail WAEC

Over 70 percent of candidates who participated in this year’s WAEC exams have failed, the Head, National Office of the Council, Charles Eguridu announced yesterday. Mr Eguridu while announcing the results said, out of the total number of 241,161 candidates who sat for the examinations, only 72,522 scored five credits with the two key subjects, giving a pass rate of 29.27 percent. A record which only supersedes that of 2013 by only 1 percent.

It will also be recalled that there was also a massive failure last year when only 86,612 candidates passed out of a total number of 298,971 candidates who wrote the examinations.

I get contradictory advice on issues, says Goodluck Jonathan

President Jonathan said that the world is everyday reeled with bad stories of killings and bombings and that Nigeria is not exempted from the global misfortunes but according to him, it could have been worse

Enugu Anglican Bishops Opposes PDP Catholic- Catholic Ticket In The State Gubernatorial Race

The Anglican Communion Bishops in Enugu state have opposed the Catholic-Catholic Gubernatorial ticket of the PDP in the state for next year's general election.

Speaking to newsmen in Enugu under the aegis of the Enugu Ecclesiastical Province yesterday Dec. 17th, the Anglican Bishops led by Archbishop of the Enugu Ecclesiastical Province, Most Rev Emmanuel Chukwuma demanded that the Enugu chapter of the PDP, zone the governorship running mate slot to one of its members otherwise they stand the chance of loosing the Anglican Church's votes in next year's election.
The Bishops said they welcomed the party's consensus gubernatorial candidate, Hon Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi who is a Catholic but are opposed to the Catholic/Catholic governorship ticket of the party..
“We the Anglican Bishops are crying and appealing that Anglicans in Enugu state will not tolerate marginalization and should be giving the position of deputy governor of the state.  For the position of governor and deputy governor to be Catholic/Catholic will not be acceptable to us. In the Federal level, people are not happy with Christian/Christian ticket, hence the president has taken a very good stand to return as President and pick a Moslem as his running mate. Why should Enugu State, therefore, nominate a Roman Catholic governorship candidate who we are not against and wanting again to nominate a Roman Catholic as the running mate? We Anglicans say no to this kind of arrangement. We are not in minority in Enugu state and we totally reject that intention and are warning that if they want peace to reign in this state and for them to enjoy our cooperation, it should not be Roman Catholic/ Roman Catholic ticket”the bishops said.
The Bishops went further to say that
“Former Governor of the State, Chimaroke Nnamani who served from 1999 to 2007 is a Methodist. He picked Okechukwu Itanyi, a Catholic as his Deputy. Nnamani handed over to Sullivan Chime who is Roman Catholic. Sullivan chose Sunday Onyebuchi, a Methodist or so, not an Anglican as Deputy. As they are going out, all those who want to become governor are Catholics and in the PDP, they are plotting to make their running mate a Catholic. We are saying give us an Anglican Deputy, otherwise you are looking for our trouble".

Nigerian Women Top The List Of Most Unfaithful Women In The World

We hate to burst your bubble people, but a recently released survey report has revealed that Nigerian women are the most unfaithful in the world. The survey interviewed 29,000 people in 36 countries.
A worldwide survey held by Durex, the condom manufacturer on over 29,000 people from 36 nations revealed that the following people were the most culpable to infidelity and adultery.

And in these rating, Nigerian women win the race. For the first time in recent months have i seen my beloved country win a gong yet a negative one?
Top 10 Most unfaithful women in the world [by country]

1. Nigerian women:
62% of Nigerian women are unfaithful. Recently Major Chitsiko, a soldier, committed suicide after his wife cheated on him. The couple was estranged. Also in November 20011, Erelu Tola Solomon, a social elite in Lagos and Abuja, decided to ruin her 25 year marriage after having sex with a Lagos businessman.

2. Thai women:
59% of women living in Thailand admitted to cheating on their husbands. The rules seem more relaxed in Thailand than they are in the West. Many husbands even allow their wives to commit adultery.

3. British women:
A UNLV article on infidelity and extramarital affairs noted that Britain have cases at a rate of 42%, The country experiences a high rate of women cheating.

4. Malaysian women:
33% of Malaysians are known to cheat. 39% of the Malaysian women, in particular, are known to betray their marriage vows. It was also revealed that Malaysian men have on average 3 sex partners.

5. Russian women:
33% of Russian women are known to be cheaters. Interestingly enough, the adulterer is not the one to blame in Russia. The finger points towards the person who kindles the affair. The fingers also point to women and that has been a century old tradition for 100s of years.

6. Singaporean women:
Durex also established that 19% of women in Singapore are known to be unfaithful. Singapore men are known to have up to 16 sex partners, which explains why the country has 19% unfaithful women.

7. French women:
Women in France are 16.3% likely to commit adultery. Men are 22% likely. A Huffington Post article believes that France makes adultery mandatory – 93% of the population is committing it.

8. American women:
14% of married women in Italy admitted to having an affair once during their married life. 54% of the married men did not know about their spouses extramarital activities. This comes in a society where 50% believe that adultery is morally wrong. Interestingly enough 61% of Americans believe that adultery should not be a crime.

9. Italian women:
The judicial system in Italy has decriminalized adultery for married women. Women now can lie about having an affair to protect their honor.

10. Indian women:
Indian Women are also known to be adulterous. Adultery is considered as a crime and is placed under Chapter XX, which deals with offenses relating to the sacrament of marriage. As per the Indian jurisdiction, the law related to adultery is mentioned under Section 497 of the Indian penal code. Section 498 of the Indian penal code also states the law related to adultery.
All in all, 50-65% of husbands and 40-55% of wives have an affair before they are 40.

He was 14 when he was executed. More than 70 years later, this boy has been exonerated

George Stinney Jr became the youngest person to be executed in the US in the 20th century when he was sent to the electric chair in 1944, but more than 70 years after his death his conviction has been overturned.
Circuit Judge Carmen Mullen said the speed with which the state meted out justice against the boy was shocking and extremely unfair, and that his case was one of "great injustice" in her ruling exonerating Stinney Jr.
The 14-year-old black boy was sentenced to death for the murder of two white girls in a segregated mill town in South Carolina, in a trial that lasted less than three hours and reportedly bore no evidence and barely any witness testimonies.

Boko Haram leader, Shekau, vows to kill Emir Sanusi of Kano

Boko Haram leader, Abubakar Shekau, has threatened to attack the Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, in retaliation for the Emir’s call on Kano residents and other Nigerians to arm and defend themselves against the terror organization.
In a new video released weekend, Mr. Shekau said his group does not consider Mr. Sanusi a true Muslim, and will attack him whenever an opportunity presents itself.
The Emir had earlier issued a call to arms after a series of deadly attacks by suspected Boko Haram militants in Kano.
