Alamieyeseigha’s N2.8b hotel rots away in Abuja[Photos]

 seven years after the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) handed over the N2.8billion Chelsea Hotel to the government of Bayelsa State, the hitherto money-spinning edifice is rotting away in Abuja.
The hotel was seized from the state’s first civilian governor, the late Diepreye Alamieyeseigha.
A Federal High Court, Lagos in 2007 ordered the forfeiture of the hotel by Alamieyeseigha after the ex-governor was sentenced for corruption.
Besides the hotel, the EFCC sold other Alamieyeseigha assets in Nigeria and realised N3, 128, 230, 294.83billion; $441,000; E7, 000 and £2,000.

Teenager arrested in Ikorodu for allegedly selling bar of soap as mobile phones[Photos]

The Operatives of Rapid Response Squad (RRS) of Lagos State Police Command, have apprehended an 18 -year-old boy, Segun Adeyefa, for allegedly selling bar of soap as mobile phones to unsuspecting members of public in traffic.
The suspect was arrested by the RRS men on routine patrol of Ikorodu Motor Park yesterday at about 19:50 hrs, while trying to defraud a young man at the motor park.
Upon his arrival at RRS’s Headquarters, the suspect confessed that before he was caught on Tuesday, he had duped one person of N3,500 who wanted to buy the phone.

China to construct $1.85bn light rail in Kano

China Railway Construction Corporation says it has won a $1.851 billion contract to construct the Kano city light rail.
In a special announcement in Monday, the company said its directors had received a provisional letter of award from Nigeria.
The rail, with a total length of 74.3 kilometres, is expected to travel at a speed of 100 kilometres per hour.

Abuja doctor allegedly uses own sperm for his IVF patients

A well known Abuja gynecologist, 47 year old Dr. Kalu Nwachukwu, is currently in police custody for allegedly drugging, then having intercourse with  his female patients.
Police arrested him on August 4 after a report of “unethical conduct”.
According to DailyTrust, a police statement said the gynaecologist was “in the habit of taking undue advantage of his female patients who come to him for treatment to sexually abuse the patients.”
Police said Nwachukwu “confessed to have had sexual affairs with some of his female patients.”
They added he confessed the patients were those who came “for treatment or consultation in his
office and other locations.”

Mariah Carey's older sister was arrested on a prostitution charge Friday, and police are saying anyone who may have had a sexual encounter ,especially unprotected with the woman should see their doctor.
According to Mecury news,Alison A. Carey, 55 who is HIV positivr was arrested after soliciting money in exchange for sexual favors from an undercover police officer posing as a client.

Wrong Medication Kills Senator Stella Oduah's First Son in Abuja Hospital (Photo)

The  first son of Senator Stella Oduah has passed away at a Turkish private hospital in Abuja due to the wrong prescription by a medical doctor; SaharaReporters has learned.
Senator Oduah's son, whose name was given as Maxwell Chinedu Etoromi, died yesterday after he took a wrong medication prescribed for him following a tooth surgery.
It was gathered that the 28-year-old graduated from Guildford College in the UK before returning to Abuja.
Ms. Oduah served in the Goodluck Jonathan administration as a Minister of Aviation before running for a seat in the Nigerian Senate.
