Buhari Visits Atiku In Abuja

Buhari visits Atiku
Former Head of State and flag bearer of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2015 presidential election, General Muhammadu Buhari has visited former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, who lost the party’s presidential primaries to him last week, at his Abuja residence.
Buhari was at Atiku’s residence in the company of his orderly and driver, while all Atiku’s aides were asked to stay away as both men held a meeting behind closed-doors.
Although the details of the meeting was not disclosed, it was believed that Buhari’s mission was to solicit the support of Atiku in his bid for presidency.
The former vice president also gave an hint of what the two leaders discussed in a tweet after their meeting. “General Buhari visited earlier today. We will work together to bring the change Nigeria needs.”
Atiku was earlier seen by many as the aspirant who would win the APC presidential primaries due to his experience and political structure. Buhari however won with a massive 3,430 votes, with Atiku coming third after Kano State Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso.
He had since congratulated Buhari and promised to support his candidacy in the interest of the nation and the party. “We voted, a winner emerged. I pledge my commitment to this Party, and to campaign vigorously for our candidate,” he wrote on twitter after the party’s primaries.
