A new study and survey has revealed that ‘One in nine men’ admit to having paid for sex. It also reveals that professionals aged between 25 and 34 are most likely to hire prostitutes. Do you agree?
Dr Cath Mercer, of University College London, said: “Men who pay for sex are more likely to be young professionals, with many unpaid sexual partners.
“These men report engaging in other risky sexual behaviours, such as having concurrent – or overlapping – partners, so they should be considered a core group for sexual health interventions and services.”
Sex tourism is thriving, according to the study, with 62.6 per cent of men who bought sex said they did so outside their home country.
“Paying for sex may seem more permissible abroad, at a place removed from the day-to-day lives of most men,” added the sexual health expert.
