The second marriage of Mohammed Babangida to Aisha Umma Wali has crashed. The marriage was annulled in a few months ago when Umma filed for divorce on the grounds of irreconcilable differences. The marriage between Mohammed and Umma was celebrated in 2008 with an elaborate celebration spanning into several days in Minna and Kano. Initially, his decision to take a second wife put a strain on his marriage with Rahama but Mohammed was able to steer the affair of his matrimonial home with such dignity and maturity that Rahama (daughter of Alhaji Indimi, the Maiduguri born oil billionaire) objected to having a co-wife,she finally gave in and agreed to Mohammed's wish.nterestingly though,Umma was allegdely Mohammed's first love interest. The two were rumoured to have dated for sometime before Mohammed announced his decision to marry Umma but got a stern no from his late mum Maryam Babangida.
Eventually, Mohammed settled for Rahama, but with time,he re-visited his decision to make an honest woman out of Umma and sealed his love with her in April 2008.well five years down the line, the love between Mohammed and Umma has suffered a decline and it has ended in a divorce. A family source disclosed that Umma was emotionally deflated when her efforts in getting pregnant usually turned out to be fruitless. It was also gathered that it was Umma that signified her interest to walk out of the marriage. Even though he was reluctant in letting go, Mohammed had to oblige her request when he realised that there was nothing he could do to make Umma happy.Mohammed is still married to Rahama and they have four children between them.
Nigerian police have raided a baby factory in the oil city of Port Harcourt and arrested a woman accused of harbouring six pregnant girls, a spokeswoman said Wednesday.
“We rescued six girls last week at different stages of pregnancy from an illegal maternity home in Port Harcourt,” Joy Elomoko of the Imo State police said.
She said the youngest of the girls was 14, without disclosing the ages of the others.
“We have also arrested the proprietress of the clinic and she is assisting us in our investigation,” she said.Elomoko said the raid on the Port Harcourt home followed the arrest of a girl with a baby in nearby Owerri on October 15.
“A lady was found in suspicious circumstances with a day old baby and after interrogation she confessed that she gave birth to a baby in Port Harcourt,” the police spokeswoman said.
Elomoko said police detectives followed the girl to Port Harcourt where six expectant mothers were found in a clinic run by a woman.
“The woman could not produce any document authorising her to operate the clinic and she was subsequently arrested,” she said.
She said the girls also told police that they were being kept in the home to make babies which would be sold to willing buyers.
Elomoko said the suspect would be taken to court after police investigation.
Nigerian police have uncovered a series of alleged baby factories in recent years, notably in the southeastern part of the country. Baby boys can sell for a price of around $250 (180 euros), baby girls for slightly less.
Human trafficking, including the selling of children, is the third most common crime in Nigeria behind fraud and drug trafficking, according to the United Nations
The Chairman, Senate Committee on Aviation, Senator Hope Uzodinma, on Wednesday said the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) purchased two armoured vehicles for its Managing Director and another two for the embattled minister, Princess Stella Oduah.
Uzodinma spoke to newsmen on the sidelines of the investigation into the purchase of two armoured vehicles by the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) for Aviation Minister Stella Oduah.
He said that FAAN Managing Director, Mr George Uriesi, told the committee on oath that his agency purchased 202 operational cars and two bullet-proofs cars for the office of the managing director.“Uriesi did confirm that among the operational vehicles they purchased, four of them are armored vehicles, two for the managing director and two for the minister.
“We told them to go back and put everything in writing and make comprehensive statements on all vehicles purchased.
“They bought a total number of 202 vehicles for different operations so until they come back on Monday we cannot rush into conclusion.
“The managing director of FAAN said they did a funding arrangement with a commercial bank,’’ he said.
Uzodinma, who said investigations were still ongoing, promised that the committee was committed to undertake a holistic probe to ensure that all anomalies were corrected to reposition the sector.
He quoted the FAAN managing director as saying that the Minister of Aviation gave approval for the purchase of the armoured vehicles.
The Senate Committee on Aviation had on 29 October queried FAAN over the purchase of four bullet-proof cars for use by the managing director
Uriesi told the committee that the vehicles included two Lexus Limousine cars and two Prado jeeps.
He said that contrary to insinuations, the limousines were purchased at the cost N60 million each and not N70 million.
Uriesi, who said that he did not have details of the cost of the Prado jeeps, however, said the vehicles were still in the custody of the bankers which funded the purchase.
The committee ordered the managing director to appear before it on Nov. 4, with comprehensive details of the transaction and the documents for all the purchases.
Beautiful actress Kerry Washington, 36, is reportedly pregnant with her first child by husband of four months - NFL cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha, 32.
And she certainly looked radiant - not to mentioned covered up - as she stepped out in Manhattan to run errands just hours after the report was published.
The 36-year-old, who has become an ABC favourite for her portrayal of the pout-faced fixer, is 'about four months along' according to Us Magazine.
She might be good at keeping secrets - rather like Pope - but unlike her covert wedding, the baby rumour has been bubbling under the surface of the celebrity scene for weeks.
This is mainly due to the seemingly tell-tale move of hiding her incredible figure in baggier clothing for recent events and appearances.
Inside the world's busiest maternity ward where women sleep five to a bed and 100 babies are born every day
Rosalyn, already a mother of six children, is waiting to give birth. But she will not enjoy the privacy of her own delivery room, her husband Eduardo by her side.
Instead, Rosalyn will be one of the 300 new mothers crammed into the wards at the Dr Jose Fabella Memorial Hospital in Manila, the capital of the Philippines, which sees, on average, 60 new babies come into the world every single day.
Space at the maternity wing is at a premium, so Rosalyn and her new baby will share with other mothers, usually five to a bed but sometimes more, and she will give birth as part of a group of six when the time comes.

A nine-year-old girl has died, after sustaining injuries caused by alleged consistent rape by a 14 year-old boy.
According to police authorities, the deceased was raped over five times, by a 14-year-old student, Onyi Adimabua, in the Ikorodu area of the state.
The father of the deceased, Simeon Jigo, told PUNCH Metro that Onyi is the son of the proprietor of the school his daughter attended. He said his daughter opened up about the rape when she started having medical problems. His daughter died on October 3, 2013.
He said, “Up until my daughter’s death, she was a pupil of Fulfilled Greenland School, Ikorodu, and she was in primary three. One day, she came home and started complaining of pains around her vagina, stomach area. We rushed her to Ikorodu General Hospital. A doctor checked her and after conducting some tests on her, told us that my daughter had sustained medical complications due to forced sexual intercourse. I was alarmed by this; so, I had a private discussion with my daughter. She told me that it was her school proprietor’s son, Onyi, that had been raping her. The boy had threatened to kill her if she ever told anyone about it.”
The indigene of Ondo State told PUNCH Metro that after initial treatments, he took his daughter to Arogbo in Ondo State to be taken care of but her condition continued to deteriorate.
A few days after the troubled father travelled to Ondo State, Onyi, accompanied by his parents, also travelled to Ondo State, to apologise to Jigo’s family. The girl, however, was said to have died that very day.
“On getting to the house where my daughter was, we discovered that she was dead. Onyi confessed that he had been raping my daughter prior to her death,’ Jigo said.
Police Public Relations Officer, Ngozi Braide, who confirmed the incident to our correspondent on the telephone, expressed shock at the development.
“It is appalling that a teenager could indulge in such act. The matter is under investigation and the culprit will be re-arrested.”
The pretty Nollywood actress revealed to Encomium Magazine on the heart break she suffered. Her boyfriend married her cousin...or is it her cousin married her boyfriend?
The heartbroken actress talks about her shock and her not being able to forgive them.
"My first cousin and my ex betrayed me. The whole story is complicated. She dated my
boyfriend and married him. I had no idea what was going on until they were about to get married because she was pregnant for him. I did not introduce him to her. She knew him. He was my Uncle's best man and we were in the bridal train. He met us together and went after me. We had a relationship for some years, two years at a stretch, then it became off and on and all those times she knew. She was even engaged to someone else at the time. Unknown to me she 'worked' her NYSC down to Lagos to have my boyfriend. She was living with him and it didn't make any sense to me. Until later on, I found out they were getting married. What pained me most and the worst part of it was when I got to hear about it and confronted him, he said he can never do anything with my sister.and there you are getting her pregnant and marrying her. It got all messed up. This happened in September 2012. I haven't forgiven them. I don't think I ever will"
Sorry dear just take heart na one of those things in life!
The media frenzy that followed the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA)’s purported purchase of two bullet-proof cars for its logistic use and ferrying of foreign missions to Nigeria has shown the inability of the Nigerian media to determine when it is unconsciously lending itself to frivolity or dutifully discharging its function of keeping the public abreast of developments in the society. The sustained attention on Ministry of Aviation is an intelligent exploitation of the agenda-setting role of the media by career politicians, self-acclaimed activists and battered concessionaires who have age-long scores to settle with Stella Oduah for her transformational efforts.
Surprisingly, we read more noise than the real issue in the papers; and the media seem to be failing in its responsibility by acting lame as evidenced by its inability to intelligently investigate the matter rather than joining the frenzy; and becoming an ordinary tool in the hands of a gang with interest, even not known to the media.

A nursing mother, Mrs Glory Ojuala, has narrated how her husband, Alex Ojuala, drugged her for three days in order to have sex with her a few days after she was delivered of a baby at her matrimonial home in Lagos State, western Nigeria.
The mother of three children made the shocking revelation at Ejigbo Customary Court in Lagos State on Monday while testifying before the court following a petition she filed before the court for dissolution of their 15-year marriage.
The 30-year old housewife claimed that two days after she gave birth to their child, her husband started pestering her for sex in the presence of her mother, who was on a visit.
Glory told the court that she denied her husband sex because she was still recovering from pangs childbirth and was breast feeding, but he accused her of having extramarital affairs and cut the family’s daily feeding allowance to N100 to punish her.
Glory alleged that she did not know that her husband had an ulterior motive when she gave her a soft drink while she was eating on the day her husband drugged her.
The nursing mother alleged that after she took the soft drink, she couldn’t explain what happened afterwards until she was revived in a hosptial three days later.
She said that she later knew that her husband drugged her to have sex with her when he confessed that he did so because she was denying him sex and was sleeping with other men.
She told the court that after the incident she moved out of his house and since then they have been living separately, while her husband abandoned their children for her to take care of them alone.
The embittered woman had petitioned the court seeking for the dissolution of their 15-year marriage on the grounds that her husband was threatening her life, did not take care of her and their children and beat her, adding that she does not love him anymore.
Glory narrated in court how Alex Ojuala, an indigene of Edo State, came to her village in Eket in Akwa Ibom State and married her at a tender age.
She said despite her age, she accepted to marry him against her family wish, only to be maltreated by him after they started living together.
She told the court that she believed that he charmed her to marry him and her suspicion was confirmed when she started attending church.
Glory asked the court to compel Alex to take care of their children by providing for their upkeep and education.
In response, Alex denied all the allegations made against him and said he had been taking care of his family until trouble started.
Alex said he used to give his wife N200 daily before leaving for work and wondered how she would claim that he did not take care of her and their children.
He also said that he was no longer interested in the relationship and asked the court to dissolve the marriage.
He promised to provide N10,000 for the upkeep and education of the children.
The president of the court, Mr T. A. Eko, queried Alex for abandoning the responsibility of the training their children for his estranged wife to shoulder and asked him to have a change of heart for the interest of the children.
The matter was adjourned till March 2014.

A nightclub bouncer who was twice spared from being deported from Britain back to Nigeria has been jailed for raping a woman in her own home - months after judges allowed him to stay in the country.
Idreez Popoola, 34, should have been deported in 2006 after his temporary UK visa expired but he was allowed to continue living and working in Britain.
In December 2011 he was arrested and was told he would have to return to his native Nigeria but he successfully appealed the ruling.
Judges granted the nightclub bouncer temporary leave to stay in January 2012 because he had a wife and child.
Then, 11 months later on December 29 last year, he attacked and raped a woman in her own home.
Popoola was jailed for seven years at Northampton Crown Court on October 18 after he was found guilty of rape following a four day trial last month.
Sentencing, Judge Lynn Tayton told him: 'It was a serious aggravating factor that the rape took place in the victim’s own home as this was an abuse of the trust placed in you by the victim and has undermined her feelings of safety in her own space.'
He was also ordered to sign the Sex Offenders’ Register for life.
Judge Tayton also told him he would be automatically deported back to Nigeria on his release from prison.

Clara Chime, the First Lady of Enugu State, says Governor Sullivan Chime, has placed her under house arrest, and has cried out for assistance to reach human rights bodies to rescue her.
In a letter dripping with pain and suffering, Mrs. Chime disclosed that she married Mr. Chime in October 2008 but that she has been unable to share the matrimonial bed with him for over four years.
Describing her desperate situation, she said that even President Goodluck Jonathan and First Lady Patience Jonathan have intervened with her husband without success.
“My father is late, my Mum and few of my siblings are confused and have done all kinds of prayers they know of, 3 of my siblings prefers me dead than to see me leave the Government house. He treats my Mum and my siblings bad,” she wrote.
The Enugu State First Lady said she has been introduced to two psychiatrists whose names she gave as Dr. Onwukwe and Dr. Agumo, who have prescribed “all kinds of drugs that ends up keeping me acute depressed and also drives me into hallucinations.”
The doctors, she noted, are scared of her husband the Governor, to whom nobody can tell the truth.
According to the letter, the Catholic Bishop of Enugu state (Callistus Onaga), and top priests have come to intervene, as have the President and the First Lady of the nation, without success.
Mrs. Chime further complains that Governor Chime has ordered her to leave with her four-year old son whom she conceived before their wedding. However, the governor, according to her, later threatened to disown the boy should she leave with him.
“He has told everyone he can reach that there is no marriage between us that I can leave if I wish to but whenever I plan to leave he instructs them to lock me in. I have told him through Sms that I will leave my son behind and leave alone but still he instructed
his securities to lock me inside the house.”
Mrs. Chime further complains she has lost touch with the real world and all that makes her beautiful because of the side effects of the drugs she is taking, stressing that she is under house arrest for committing no crime.
Of the situation in Government House, she said, “He does not take care of me personally, the government gives me allowance to run the house and that's where I save little from to take care of my elf, my Mum and few of my siblings,” she said in the letter. He shut me out of his life years ago; I don't have access to his apartment. The problem is enormous; I don't know where to start to explain from.”
She said that even the security detail in the lodge has resorted to praying for her, while the few that can be bought with money are taking advantage of the situation.
“Police and SS men have been instructed by Governor Sullivan Chime to confine me in a place for a long time now against my wish [but] it is my wish to leave these premises,” she said, begging, “Please assist me to reach to the human rights and say to them to please come hastily and release me.

Nigerian girl, Saheela Ibraheem, whose name has been buzzing in the headlines lately as a promising talent, has reserved a place among “The World’s 50 Smartest Teenagers” list.
The young girl, only 16, made it to headlines earlier this year when she was accepted into Harvard University, making her one of the youngest students ever to attend that school.
Making a record in the US, Saheela was accepted at 13 other colleges, including prestigious MIT, the University of Pennsylvania, Cornell, Brown, Princeton, Columbia, and the University of Chicago.
In the end, Saheela chose Harvard, based on her seven-year-old brother’s advice who also dreams of being admitted to Harvard.

They can deny all they want that they’re dating, but Kris Jenner and Ben Flajnik are certainly doing nothing to douse the flames by being photographed constantly in each other’s company.
On Friday, the 57-year-old mother-of-six treated Ben to a shopping spree at Barney’s in Los Angeles, before hopping on a flight to Las Vegas to celebrate daughter Kim Kardashian’s 33rd birthday. The former Bachelor star – who incidentally is four years younger than Kris’s eldest child, Kourtney, 34 – looked in desperate need of a wardrobe makeover in his ill-fitting blue jeans, which were tucked into clearly well-loved brown boots, a scruffy grey shirt and dark brown leather jacket.
