Protesters have barricaded the National Assembly drumming support for the embattled Senate President, Bukola Saraki and his deputy Ike Ekweremadu. The pro democracy group, Ohanaeze Ndi-Igbo Youth Movement ,ONYM, led by Mr Uche Nnadi told newsmen that the rally to the National Assembly was also to protest the use of anti-corruption war by politicians for personal gains.
“This despair is caused by the fact that the anti-corruption war which Nigeria in general and Igbo youths have keyed into is being misused by few political elite to fight their political war.
“We must state categorically that it is an act of corruption to use the anti-corruption war for party politics and political benefits,’’ Nnadi said.
He faulted the trial of Saraki by the Code of Conduct Tribunal, saying that he was being persecuted because his emergence as Senate President allowed an Igbo man to be the Deputy Senate President.
The protesters displayed placards such as “No to Witch-hunting” and “No to Plot To Destabilize National Assembly”, as they continued singing Saraki should be left alone.

Muslim Father Strangles Teen Daughter to Death for Stealing Condoms for Sex With Forbidden Boyfriend
Muslim father strangled daughter, 19, to death in 'honour killing' after she was caught stealing condoms for sex with her forbidden boyfriend in Germany.
A Muslim man has confessed to strangling his 19-year-old daughter to death with his bare hands after learning from police she had been caught shoplifting condoms to have sex with her forbidden boyfriend.
Asadullah Khan and his wife Shazia then dressed dead daughter, Lareeb, a dental technician, in her clothes. They then wheeled her in a wheelchair from their high-rise apartment to the family car, drove to a secluded embankment in their home city of Darmstadt in Germany, and tipped the corpse down it.
Khan, 51, with tears streaming down his face, admitted the killing because in his eyes she had brought 'dishonour' on the family with her love for a boy he didn't approve of. He and his wife were wed in an arranged marriage and he wanted the same for her.
Khan and his wife, originally from Pakistan, are on trial for murder at the State Court in Darmstadt. Shazia, 41, described how she was a downtrodden woman, totally in the thrall of her husband, and unable to save her daughter.
The court heard how the parents sent Lareeb's sister Nida, 14, to a relative on the evening of the murder in January this year. Nida gave evidence against both her parents, saying her mother was as strict as their father, often striking both of them.
Nida said: "My Mama was not suppressed, she could do what she wanted. She used to hit me with a stick. We were never allowed to talk about her boyfriend. My father used to say my sister should be forcibly married in Pakistan."
Shazia said that on the night of the murder Lareeb had quarelled again with her father and hit him. He later crept into her room as she slept, knelt astride her and strangled her.
"I couldn't stop him. I have rheumatism and didn't have the strength to fight him off. I wanted to scream, but I couldn't," Shazia said
"Lareeb stayed away from the home for several nights in a row and stopped wearing the headscarf. One day we received a letter from the police saying she had been caught trying to steal condoms.
"At this point it became clear that there was sexual contact. When I showed the letter to my husband he snapped,' the mother said in a statement read by her lawyer.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has split from his wife, Annie, according to reports.
The 65-year-old has filed papers in his hometown of Strasbourg, France, according to the Daily Mirror, with the couple reported to have agreed a financial package on how to divide their assets.
The papers show that the pair, who married in 2010 after a long time relationship, have not been together since June of this year.
Wenger has an 18-year-old daughter with Annie, 59, but there has been long speculation about the state of the marriage, with the couple not pictured together since 2013.
The Frenchman has previously admitted that the pressure of his job has put pressure on his relationship.
The "separe du corps" that has been signed is not a full divorce but a legal separation.
"Ten years ago I said to my wife [Annie], 'Five more years and that’s all', and I am still here," Wenger said in 2008.
"It is difficult to find time to see them but there are jobs [which are worse]. You have guys who leave for work on Monday and come back on Friday.
"In my job I travel, but the problem is not so much the quantity of time you spend with your family, it is the quality.
A spokesman for Arsenal told the Mirror: "He is an employee and we do not talk about employees’ personal issues."
