In reaction to reports over an alleged N100 million given to parents of the abducted Chibok girls by President Goodluck Jonathan, the Kibaku Area Development Association (KADA) has labelled the claims to be completely false.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, the association said that its main objective was/is to secure the release of the remaining 219 abducted girls.
“It is with deep sadness that we are addressing you today to state that the claim is completely false, malicious and unfounded. Our primary priority has and remains the rescue of our abducted 219 daughters. Our Association has been at the forefront of calling for decisive measures to secure their release.
“We took the moral high ground as a Community Association that represents the Chibok people in Abuja to facilitate the recent visit of parents of our abducted daughters and 51 of the 57 that escaped. We helped make that visit possible despite our misgivings that it was a poor substitute to our expectation that Mr. President should have visited Chibok even before the visit of our people for a tragedy that is now 107 days old,”
the statement read.

“We Don’t Allow Mini Skirts In This Church” | Pastor Paul Adefarasin lays down the law at House on the Rock
Pastor Paul Adefarasin began his Sunday sermon yesterday, he sounded a note of warning to female members who wear ‘distracting’ mini skirts.
“I will assume that the members that do this, are probably new or uninformed ones,” the dapper man of God began.
“But we don’t allow mini skirts in this church. If you must wear something short, make sure it covers your knees. Otherwise, an usher might need to come and complete your dressing.”
When Pastor Adefarasin asked for a witness, a large portion of the congregation shouted a resounding “yes”.
Just a few weeks ago, the pastor warned female singers not to climb the altar with high-heeled shoes.
Benin Republic actress Ella Martins and Genevieve Nnaji were both accused last year of being lesbian partners….a rumour which both of them quickly came out to debunk.
Ella has just granted Vanguard an interview telling how much the rumour hurt but ended up telling that she is currently dating a President and told how people accused her of dating former President Obasanjo…..please read for yourself.I think she just deliberately fanned more controversy with this interview...Dramaqueen!
When she was chatting with Potpourri recently through the Whatsapp social platform, the actress who would talk of no issue other than the allegation of lesbianism involving her and Genevieve, said she has known no peace since the story broke
you became popular in Nigeria after that allegation of lesbianism between you and Genevieve.
How did that little scandal affect you and your career?
Yes, it has affected my emotional life, because everybody now believes I am in a relationship with Genny and my family is not happy about it. It has really affected my career and image at home.
Have you had any similar issue back home before then?
I have never been tagged that before. It is something that is completely new to me. There has never been a time I was accused of being a lesbian. One little thing happened about me and Genevieve Nnaji and everyone now believes I am a lesbian. It is very touching and depressing.
What actually happened between you and Genny that sparked the allegation?
Hmm, you know I speak more of French than English, so, it is a little hard for me to express myself fully. What happened is that Genny and I were in a club in Lagos and her phone got missing. Later, I think a paparazzi or someone got hold of it and started sharing some contents about me and Genny online. I don’t see anything abnormal in the pictures but people started talking that we must be lesbians and all.
What kind of pictures are you talking about?
As normal persons and friends, we do take normal pictures at home and in other places but I don’t know why the online magazine showed Genevieve and I kissing, I am surprised and don’t know where they got those pictures from.
So, you and Genevieve were never kissing each other in any pictures you took together?
We kissed, but it was nothing extraordinary, it was normal kiss between girls. I mean girls do kiss each other normally, even guys do too. When I was dating Fally Ipupa we used to kiss and now that we are separated and are good friends we still continue kissing like we used to. My fear is I receive strange calls saying that in a few days’ time they will be releasing more pictures about us.

Tragedy was averted Friday morning at Bay Bridge road, Yenagoa, when a 40-year-old man, Ediekan, attempted to commit suicide as a result of his failed bid to have sex with a girl with whom he reportedly had a long standing relationship.
It took the timely intervention of his neighbors to save the situation. Ediekan, father of two children, was said to have been spending money to woo one Favour who lives within the same neighborhood to have sex with him. But rather succumb to his pressure; Fa vour resisted all entreaties and kept on promising that she would eventually marry him.
However, on Thursday night, Ediekan could no longer hide his frustrations when he discovered that Favour was sleeping with another man.
Sources told Sunday Sun that Ediekan immediately became emotionally depressed and began the plot to commit suicide within the compound.
In an interview with our correspondent, his wife, Florence, confessed that her husband woke her up in the night complaining that all the people he loved did not reciprocate his love. According to her, ,he was such in a bad mood that he asked if she could take care of their two children if he dies.
She said “I was alarmed when he came in complaining that all the people he loved did not reciprocate his love. As his wife, I reiterated my love to him, but he said he wasn't referring to me, but one Favor whom he had spent so much money for and yet refused to return his gestures with love".
He then asked if I could take care of our two children if he dies. At that point, I be- came worried and tried to discourage him from such negative thoughts. Early in the morning, as he stood up from the bed, I tried to hold him back but he broke loose and went outside. Even then, I didn't know that he had already got a rope and some chairs where he intended to hang himself. But after a while, I saw him with a rope around his neck and his legs dangling in the air. I immediately raised the alarm and neighbours came around and used cutlass to cut off the rope.”
Some of his neighbours expressed disappointment over the incident. But Ed iekan, insisted that he would commit suicide, as he could not watch another man sleeping with Favour.
Subsequently, Favour was persuaded to openly confess her love to him. Amidst the crowd of people, she obliged and even promised to marry him.

A clash between the military in Zaria, Kaduna State, and members of the Shi’a Islamic group, led by Sheikh Ibraheem El Zakzaky, has resulted in the killing of at least 10 people. His son, Sayyed (pictured), was allegedly killed in the violence by Nigerian soldiers. Two other El Zakzaky’s sons were also reportedly killed. A witness told US that “sporadic shooting as a result of the clash” went on for hours.
He explained that it is the tradition of members of the group to converge on Zaria from a whole lot of places within and outside the state for prayers, after which they march round town in their thousands for the Quds Day rally. However, after Friday’s prayers, it was observed that thousands of Shi’a members were chanting Islamic songs and hoisting placards alluding to the ongoing violence in Gaza. At some point, violence broke out. “As we speak now, there is serious fight going on in Zaria. Soldiers are shooting seriously and we are afraid because we don’t know what will happen this evening,” he said.
“Members of the sect, which is headquartered in Zaria, were displaying banners and flags with inscriptions condemning Israel’s invasion of Gaza. They were chanting ‘Government is Boko Haram’ and other anti-government songs as they moved around. “Movement is usually restricted whenever they are passing because they block all the roads. Surprisingly around 3:45 pm today, we started hearing gunshots from soldiers.
I don’t even know what happened. I first of all thought the shots were coming from a nearby barrack until we started see glimpses of corpses and injured people being carried about.” He expressed fears that the clash would drag on for hours, because despite losing some of their members to the superior firearm of the military, the Shia men refused to retreat and some even resorted to pelting the soldiers with stones.
“The soldiers could not even succeed in dispersing them. They frustrated the soldiers and the officers kept on shooting to scare them, but they did not give up. “Our fear now is that they might want to retaliate because we know them very well. The Shi’a members cannot just ignore this issue. They have
