National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Adamu Muazu, has declared that Governor Ibrahim Shema of Katsina State has no equal among all the 36 governors in the country.
Mu’azu, who spoke yesterday in Katsina at the presentation of PDP flags to chairmanship candidates ahead of the August 2 council election in the state, noted that the ruling PDP was impressed with the performance of Shema and hence, was proud of his stewardship.
The Katsina governor has been touted in some circles as a running mate to President Goodluck Jonathan in the 2015 presidential election as a result of his achievements in office.
Mu’azu said: “There is no governor like Shema in Nigeria. PDP is assuring you that it believes in your work and we know you are a just leader. Justice is on ground for all to see. PDP is proud of you”.
According to reports from Leadership, Muazu, who spoke through the PDP Vice chairman for North West, Ambassador Ibrahim Kazaure, assured people of Katsina State that a bigger position awaits the governor after the completion of his second and final term as governor by 2015.
The National chairman of PDP stressed that “apart from PDP, there is no other party. All the rest we call them club”, noting that “PDP will continue ruling for the next one hundred years to come”.
In his address, Governor Shema urged people of the state to ensure peaceful election by conducting themselves in an orderly manner by adhering to the guidelines released by Katsina State independent electoral commission.
Shema, who presented the flags to all the party’s chairmanship candidates for the state’s 34 council areas, urged them to embark on house to house campaigns, and expressed optimism that the ruling PDP will sweep the polls.
In a related development, Katsina PDP has presented membership cards to four members of the State Executive Council who joined the party.
