BARACK Obama has released a picture of himself squinting down the barrel of a smoking shotgun - just days ahead of a controversial debate on firearms laws.
The snap, which shows the US President clay pigeon shooting at his country retreat Camp David, is seen as a bid to appease critics in America's powerful gun lobby.
In a recent interview, Obama said he goes shooting "all the time" on the range in Maryland, near Washington DC.
