Police Confirm 22 Dead, 65 Injured in Kano Blasts

kano bomb blast

The police Tuesday confirmed that 22 persons had died and 65 others were injured in Monday’s serial explosions that rocked a motor park in Sabon Gari, Kano, the Kano State capital.
Although nobody or group has claimed responsibility for the attacks on the motor park patronised by southern-bound passengers, it is widely believed that the Islamic sect, Boko Haram, masterminded the three explosions that rocked the motor park and its environs.
The terrorist group was also suspected in the killing yesterday morning in Kano of a policewoman by gunmen riding on a motorcycle.
The Monday attack in Kano, which has drawn condemnations from the Senate President David Mark; his deputy, Senator Ike Ekweremadu; House of Representatives; President, Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor; Peoples Democratic Party; and the All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP), among others, also caused panic among Hausa-Fulani residents in Onitsha, Anambra State Tuesday.
