Tonto Dikeh Reacts To Weed Photos Found On Her Instagram Page
Read the mail that was sent in by her publicist below;
"As much as I would like to ignore the current issue on hemp, I think I owe well-meaning people some clarification. It is so easy the misconception that can come from a picture- the genius of technology. If you cannot find me holding a wrap of marijuana then you may want to slow down on your assumptions. We shouldn’t use our platforms to spread half-truths.
A fan wrote those words with herbs on my birthday on instagram, and I replied: “Thank you #teampoko”. Now how does someone else’s action become my crime? If I said those words ('Mi smoke gaja mi smoke weed while my hatez smoke ma gossip' ) I will stand by them but I didn’t, and just because it is convenient for people to believe the lies still doesn’t make it the truth. The whole thing is falsified by people who just love to have fun at others expense.
Let’s put some thought to some of the things we write. Don’t do cut-and-paste. The original pictures are there to see; but no! That is too boring to be the truth. We want the truth to be nasty and spicy for our enjoyment, even if it is a pack of lies. Visit my instagram page and see if the original picture is the same as the ones being circulated
Personally, I have moved on to more significant things and I want you to join me. Do you know how many women suffer domestic violence in Nigeria? What can be done to stop it? Shouldn’t we try to revive the Nigerian homes so we can groom happy and confident children? I am putting the weight of my voice behind domestic violence. What about you?
Stop hitting, slapping, cursing, hurting your partner! Where is the love? Let’s restore the dignity of society with the platform given to us by God. Use that platform of yours to build awareness for more important issues." - Tonto Dikeh
I'm Sure My Ex-Husband Has Ran Mad- Laide Bakare
Laide Bakare has been in a paternity mess saga for some weeks now. Her estranged husband, Olumide Okunfulire, says he is the father of her new born baby and wants a DNA test because they had sex several times last year. In a recent interview with city people, Laide reacts to her ex-husband's claims.
He must be “mad and oozing from chronic drunkenness” to dare ask her to come out for a DNA test in order to prove who the father of her baby is.
She said, “ordinarily, I would not believe all the stories of him saying that rubbish in the media. Maybe he was being pushed to say those things by those who know nothing about how we lived together or, maybe, they just want to put him in big trouble.”
Laide Bakare, who failed to confirm if she was having sèx with both men, simply said “I’m sure he has run mad”.

Chemistry teacher flogs female student to Coma
A Chemistry teacher at Iponri Estate Senior High School, Surulere, Lagos, southwest Nigeria, identified as Mr. Sebastine, has reportedly beaten a female student to stupor.
The victim, who is in SS 1, Abigail Chidinma Enyenwa, passed out after she was allegedly whipped by the teacher for insubordination.
The incident, P.M NEWS reliably gathered, happened on Tuesday during school hours.
Sebastine was subsequently arrested at the school premises the following day by policemen from Iponri Police Station for interrogation over the matter.
It was gathered that Abigail incurred the wrath of her teacher when she allegedly behaved rudely and acted contrary to his instructions during class session on the fateful day.
The Chemistry teacher was said to have asked all students whose parents were not present during the school’s open-day to stand on their feet, an instruction which Abigail allegedly ignored.
She reportedly disregarded, the teacher’s instruction and sat down while others stood up.
This infuriated the teacher and he called her out, gave her some strokes of the cane for her action.
It was reliably gathered from our source that Abigail passed-out in the process and commotion ensued afterwards.
She regained consciousness minutes later when some packs of sachet water were poured on her by her classmates and her frightened teacher who initially thought she was pretending.
The matter was said to have been reported at Iponri Police Station by the girl’s parents while Sebastine was arrested the following day.
Our correspondent further gathered that the school Principal, Mrs Anyah prevented the police from taking the teacher away when they arrived at the school to effect his arrest.
When P.M NEWS visited the school on Wednesday and Thursday, to get the teacher’s side of the story, he was not available for comments on the two occasions.
During our correspondent’s visit on Wednesday, the school principal was said to have gone for a meeting outside the school premises while the reporter was referred to the Vice Principal for comments.
She denied knowledge of the incident and referred our reporter back to the Principal’s office to wait for her.
On Thursday, the principal was around but denied that the incident happened in the school. “Well, as a civil servant, am not obliged to speak to the media. Besides, I don’t understand what you are talking about. No teacher beats a student to stupor here,” Mrs. Anyah said.
A student who does not want his name mentioned and who claimed to be Abigail’s friend, said,”I’m not in her class and wasn’t in school when it happened. But I heard the story. I asked her and she told me what happened.
“She said she stood up when the teacher asked them to do so but was putting her hands around her waist. She told me that she did not answer him when he asked why she’s not standing properly and the teacher in anger descended on her,” he toldP.M.NEWS.
Another student who is Abigail’s classmate and was in class when the incident happened, said:”she behaved rudely to the teacher. She was behaving as if Mr Sebastine was her boyfriend while he was talking to her. He only gave her four strokes of the cane and she passed out.
“Initially he thought she was pretending but when she didn’t stand up, he became frightened and asked us to go and buy some packs of pure water which we poured on her. I guess she wasn’t feeling alright that day or something was wrong with her.
“Mr Sebastine cannot beat somebody to stupor. He’s not that wicked. Besides, we do receive more than six strokes of the cane from him and we never fainted for once,” he said.
When asked if it was true that the teacher has been suspended, he said:”he was in school on Wednesday before the police came to arrest him. They came with an arrest warrant but the principal prevented them from taking him away.
“I have not seen him afterwards but I guess he’s among the teachers who are currently undergoing training. I think that was why he was not in school today(Thursday),” he said.

Shoot Me If You Can – Amaechi Dares CP
Rivers State Governor, Mr. Rotimi Amaechi, has dared the State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Joseph Mbu, to shoot him whenever he embarks on a demonstration against him (CP) and the Federal Government. Mbu had placed a ban on any form of demonstration, procession or rally by any person or group of persons in the state and warned anybody not to dare him on the directive.
But speaking on Tuesday when leaders and people of Urashi Kingdom paid him a solidarity visit at the Government House in Port Harcourt, Amaechi vowed that he would be at the forefront of the protest that would come up soon. The governor said he had told traditional leaders in the state to get ready for the demonstration against Mbu over the police commissioner’s position on rallies and demonstrations.
Amaechi, who decried Mbu’s attempt to stop the people of Urashi from paying a solidarity visit to him, said it was wrong for the police to have harassed his supporters. He said Rivers was now a police state following the police attempt to stop people’s movement by blocking the entire Orashi region. He said, “Another thing I will tell you is that we are looking for a date we will demonstrate against what the Federal Government and what the Commissioner of Police are doing in Rivers State.
“We have told our chiefs to get ready. Once we get a date, once we get people from overseas; they are Nigerians; they will join us and we will give you the date. “I have told the CP (Mbu) to be ready to shoot me, I will be in front. I will not seat here and wait for you to match here and give me letter. Instead, I will keep SSG here and then I will match down with you people.
“Then I will give the SSG letter to give to the FG so that if they want to shoot, they can shoot me because we have a right to express our views. You have the right to criticise me. I am not particularly a good man. There is nobody that is a perfect man in the world. Is there any?”

Update: Baby Flushed Down The Toilet – (My Baby Has Turned Me Into A Celebrity – Undergraduate Mother)
When the news first broke, a lot of people vilified her. It was reported that she wanted to get rid of what many would describe as a bundle of joy. People thus wondered why a 22-year-old undergraduate would try to flush away her baby in one of the toilets in Moremi Hall, her hall of residence at the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun State.
In spite of the trauma she had passed through since last Wednesday, the student, a native of Ijabe, a border town between Osun and Kwara states, says she is happy that the embarrassment she received from the controversy that surrounded the birth of her baby has turned into a blessing for her. She says the baby’s birth has made her more popular and important in the society.
“Right now, I can call myself a celebrity and definitely I’m going to be greater than a celebrity. My baby too is going to be great. Look at the circumstance that surrounds his birth, just some days old, he is already all over in the news around the world and everybody is happy to see him or hear about his story. He will surely go beyond where I am now. He has turned me into a kind of celebrity. ”
Thank God the story had a happy ending.
SENATOR ANDY UBAH'S INCESTUOUS ROMANCE WITH INEC
ANAMBRA INTEGRITY GROUP
SENATOR ANDY UBAH'S INCESTUOUS ROMANCE WITH INEC
All men of principle and good conscience are in total agreement that the continued retention of Senator Emmanuel Nnamdi "Andy" Ubah (representing Anambra South in the Senate) as the Senate Committtee Chairman on INEC is antithetical to all known tenets of democracy. It portrays the Senator David Mark-led Senate as abusing it's powers to confer an undue advantage on Andy Ubah in the forthcoming gubernatorial election in Anambra State.
The intention of Senaor Andy Uba to run for the office of Governor of Ansmbra State in the forthcoming gubernatorial election is well known. It is therefore not surprising that great disquiet is being caused by unfortunate boasts by his supporters that his INEC Committee Chairmanship would be used to influence INEC in the conduct of the Gubernatorial election in Anambra state. It may well be that this is idle talk, but it is suh that should not be ignored. In any case, even in the absence of the boasting by his supporters, it is still obvious that he cannot in good conscience remain the Chairman or even member of the Senate Committee on INEC in the light of his intention to participate in a very crucial election to be conducted by the same INEC.
