Final Burial Rites of Oba Sijuwade Reportedly Stalled as ‘Abobaku’ Flees

The final burial rites for the late Ooni of Ife, Oba Sijuwade has been stalled, as the ‘abobaku’ is currently on the run.
Daily Trust reports that in Yoruba tradition, the ‘abobaku’ is someone who is chosen to be buried with the king, as according to customs, an Oba is never buried alone.
