A Nigerian doctor is fighting for his life in the USA after he was hit by a lorry while holidaying in the US .A campaign has raised more than £85,000.
Sebastian Kola-Bankole, 35, is in a medically induced coma after he was run down crossing the road while celebrating a friend's wedding in Las Vegas last week, Mirror UK reports.
The junior doctor, who lives in Camden, north London, is being treated at the Sunrise Hospital and Medical Centre in Las Vegas.
He has undergone emergency operations on his ears, arteries and spine, and is currently in a "critical but stable condition".
But the doctor's family has been unable to find Dr Kola-Bankole's travel insurance documents, meaning they face having to fork out thousands for treatment.
Ros Sarai, 32, a trainee anaesthetic doctor from Harringay, has known Dr Kola-Bankole for six years and is helping with the campaign.
Describing him as "the life and soul of the party", she said Dr Kola-Bankole went to medical school at UCL with her husband."This is someone who spends his life caring for other people, and he needs help.
"He is the most beautiful human being... and he is all alone in America."
Dr Kola-Bankole has family in the US, but his friend said his home is in London and he "needs to be in the NHS".
The injured doctor is from Nigeria but has British citizenship after studying in the UK and working within the NHS for eight years.
