Lagos State Govt. to Replace 4th, 5th, & 8th Lekki Roundabouts with Traffic Lights

Lagos to Replace Lekki Roundabouts
The Lagos State Government said on Wednesday that it is set to decongest traffic along the Lekki-Epe Expressway through the removal of three roundabouts namely the 4th Roundabout (Elegushi); 5th Roundabout (Jakande) and the 8th Roundabout (VGC).
This was made known by the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Steve Ayorinde, while addressing a joint ministerial press briefing at the Bagauda Kaltho Press Centre in Alausa.
He said the affected roundabouts would be replaced by the use of traffic lights, expansion of the roads and provision of dedicated turning lanes as well as additional lay-bys.
The state’s Commissioner for Works, Ganiyu Johnson also said that the government will embark on the construction of a flyover at Pen Cinema located at the Agege axis of the state.
“The Pen-Cinema flyover has been a recurring decimal in this state to solve the gridlock there. This flyover will bring to three the number of flyover undertaken by this government after the Abule-Egba and Ajah flyovers which are on course,” Johnson said.
