8 teachers were Thursday killed in Dikwa town, Borno State by members of the outlawed Boko Haram sect.
The sect on Thursday evening invaded three towns in Borno; Dikwa (in the central), Gwoza and Kalahgde (both in South), engaging soldiers freely across the towns.
The fighting that started yesterday was said to have lasted till early today in some of the places under attack
In the Dikwa attack, some residents of the town who fled to Maiduguri revealed to journalists that the hoodlums killed eight teachers.
One of them who spoke on condition of anonymity said some had to flee the town to Maiduguri.
“We could not sleep at night as all we were hearing was gunshot  and we became afraid and had to sneak in the dark for Maiduguri.”
