Beyoncé Lying About Her Real Age? Mathew Knowles’ ‘Breakfast Club’ Interview Sparks Debate

The Internet rumors started earlier this week when the "7/11" singer's father, Mathew Knowles, did a radio interview with Power 105.1's "The Breakfast Club" and said Beyoncé is the same age as singer P!nk.
Knowles, 63, who has an estranged relationship with Beyoncé, was on the morning radio show discussing how he got into managing Destiny's Child. At one point during the interview Knowles mentioned a girl group that used to compete against Destiny's Child and he revealed that the lead singer of the group was P!nk.

"We signed to Daryl Simmons, who was partners with L.A. Reid and Babyface. These guys had this competitiveness, L.A. he had a girls group," Knowles said. "Bet you don’t know who his lead singer was. P!nk, she’s the exact same age as Beyoncé. There used to be this battle, which group was better. Usher, he was the same age. They were all 14 or 15 years old.”

"The Breakfast Club" hosts didn't say anything about Knowles supposed slip of the tongue, but blog MediaTakeOut reported that he put Beyoncé "on blast" and admitted "they've been lying about [her] age all along."

The site then pointed out how a Google search showed Beyoncé’s age as 34 years old, while P!nk was listed as 36. Beyoncé has not commented on the rumor but it's not the first time the pop star, or her husband Jay Z, was accused of lying to the public.

In 2012, it was heavily speculated the "Drunk In Love" singer was faking her baby bump and had secretly hired a surrogate. Beyoncé called the rumors "stupid" in an interview with People at the time. “That was crazy. It wasn’t hurtful, it was just crazy,” she said. “[I thought] ‘Where did they come up with this?'”

Jay Z was also accused of lying about his age when DJ Troi Torain said last year that the rapper was really 50 years old. (The "99 Problems" rapper will celebrate his 46th birthday in December). According to E! Online, Torain alleged at the time: "I shouldn't blow this up, maybe because he doesn't promote it publicly, but Jay Z and I are the same age. I will be 50 on May 3. He's 43, 42…that's just media bulls----!" Jay Z never responded to the rumor, but E! reported that public records proved he wasn't fibbing about his age.
